If you're posting on a video game message board, you're definitely more in the hardcore crowd. A "casual" gamer is someone who just goes and buys a game without doing any research, and it's typically either a sports game or a halo game lol.UT_WrestlerI'd basically agree with you but everybody's opinion is different on it. me=Hardcore yea lol.
I'm not sure being hardcore necessarily means you play every game enough to have knowledge on most games that exist, as everyone has different tastes.
For me I consider myself hardcore as it is my biggest hobby, I spend a lot of time playing and keeping up to date with news etc. basically being enthusiastic about it.
Definitely a casual gamer. With school getting in the way, I spend most of my days in the library, at the gym, or at work, and by the time I get home - all I want to do is eat and sleep!
I'm hoping that upon graduating in May, I'll have some more time to play. :}
I consider myself as "hardcore".I don´t buy every crap just because of it´s name and play a lot.Of course there are more important things in my life then gaming,but it takes a really big spot in my freetime,even if I don´t skip a party just for playing if I can afford to go.
well,my first systems were atari2600 and colecovision.I had a NES,SMS,Genesis,Supernintendo,PS1,2,3,sega saturn,N64,gamecube,XBOX,XBOX360.I sold my 360 to pay bills when I got sick and went out of work,my PS3 blew up and i am still not working so I haven't got it fixed yet,so I am playing old XBOX getting around to playing last gen games I skipped,and replaying the GTA trilogy for the umpteenth time. I also got the refrences of eternalgamer,and remember the nintendo/tengen lawsuit which I believe also included an unauthorized version of tetris.
Gaming is a way of life for me,but I do not classify myself,in fact my XBOX live zone I chose recreation. Am I a hardcore gamer? you tell me.
Hardcore, of course. I have got a Wii but i,m not casual, man (Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy...).
I would consider myself fairly hardcore, but not super hardcore. I dont own 1000 games or something, probably only about 35 in total. the types of games I like are RTS, RPGs, FPSs and I hate sports games.
a hardcore gamer can enjoy both old and new games, casual gamers generally laugh at older games, without even playing them first.
finally a harcore gamer can name/recognise, various franchises in gaming, casual gamers wont know anything outside "pac man and Mario".
since i can enjoy old and new games and name various franchises as well as play more traditional types of games, I suppose I am quite hardcore
I'm neither.
I consider myself a Well Informed Gamer. One who reads up on gaming trends, etc.

Don't be in denial. Well informed is hardcore. Belonging to Gamespot is hardcore. Being called a nerd because "you know too much about games" is hardcore. One of us, one of us, one of us!!!
I'm neither.

I love pretty much all types of genre, except RPGs, can't stand them. But I'm more into FPS and classic Nintendo games (my 360 and Wii are mostly played) I missed out on so many games in the past and really don't classify myself as being too hardcore. But I'm definitely waaaayyy above the casuals who don't know better in regards to gaming.

you're neither a 'casual' gamer nor a 'hardcore' gamer, but you're still 'above' the 'casuals'? above them makes it sound as if you're putting yourself in a hierarchy, rating yourself as better than others simply because you've had more game-playing history.
