I loved Resident Evil 4 and I was really excited about RE5. But then after playing the demo, I didn't want it any more. The co-op is annoying, and the big deal breaker was being unable to pause the game while on your inventory screen. Screw that.

Definitely. A couple that come to mind are Blacksite: Area 51 and Timeshift. Both looked cool but after playing the demo I didn't want either one. It's mostly the other way around though. I'll just download certain demos for the heck of it and then I end up buying a game that had a really cool demo.
Brutal Legend's demo actually had just the opposite effect on me. I'll definitely pick it up in a couple of years when I can get a good bargain on it.Yes. RE5 and Brutal Legend spring to mind.

No I can't really think of one that has stopped me from wanting to purchase a game I really wanted but I have played some demos that have made me interested in purchasing a game I either wasn't previously interested in or knew very little about it.
I don't play demos. I played two and I decided not to get the games. Then, I eventually picked up the games for a couple of bucks a piece in a few years time. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Van Helsing. I hated the demos, but I enjoyed the games. I don't find demos to be helpful at all.muthsera666That's odd.

I played the Van Helsing demo off of the movie DVD, and I hated the demo. Without realizing this, my parents got the game for about $10 for my birthday. I really enjoyed the actual game when I played it. I played the demo for Warrior Within off of another game disc, and I didn't care for it at all. Then, I played Sands of Time and decided to do the whole trilogy, and WW is an okay game.
Agreed TC, the RE5 demo made me turn tail and run.
I just downloaded the God of War III demo and must say I'm not as impressed as I thought I'd be. It's glitchy (I can't proceed past a certain point, no, not the end of the demo), it freezes, the sound skips like crazy and it's unpolished as hell. I realize it's a demo, but MAN, I've never seen one of such bad quality. It'll be cleaned up at release I have no doubt, so I'll end up picking it up anyways, but the demo's left a sour taste in my mouth.
Resident Evil 5 most recently. Had I listened to my gut, the most recent would be L4D2. but I didn't, and now I have a game that I wish would magically transform itself into AS2. that's what I get for buying 2 FPS's 2 weeks in a row :(
The demo to Jericho made me very iffy on the game and I only bouhgt it when it was $10. The demo for Siren made me not want it. it was very annoying in camera angles and controls.
Bomberman ultra. It was discounted for five bucks, but when I downloaded the demo, I hated it. One, I sucked at it. Two, the voices were horrible...
BOMB UP! YAY! RED-BOMBER-WINS! AUUUGH!
I find that weird... I downloaded the Jericho demo only because I didn't have any games to play or demos that I hadn't already downloaded. I loved the demo, it took me by shock. I thought on buying the game after that even though I rarely buy games and I had never thought of buying Jericho. What held me from buying it was that it is very short and I needed a long game to keep me busy since I was broke... scratch that, I'm ALWAYS broke.
