when i first resident evil i was not scared althought some areas scared me, like the lift to kitchen or the crows over the area where the jungle can be seen, and the tiny bit of that outside section, but later resident evil games did not scared me at all, probably cause the series took an action oriented direction, but i have not played any game except re1,2,3 and survivor, but when i first p[layed silent hill, i was scared really, in day light too, and when that siren rings, and darkness happens, wow that was horror, also the school was horribly scary.

Yes. There was a certain part of Bioshock that scared the holy *#$% out of me...two actually. Resident Evil 3 scared me too but not in a suspenseful way. It was more like "what the heck is this thing chasing me" sort of way. Halo scares me whenever the Flood is introduced. Just not right.

Overall I don't like being scared. As such I haven't made it my business to play a lot of scary games.

I used to get scared and my heart was beating super fast when playing Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and hearing the Godsmack song and realizing that the Dahaka was chasing me, it was scary and still is lmao.

Yeah.

RE 2 - Tyrant bursts through a wall.

RE 3 - The Nemesissmashes througha window as you run down a set of stairs.

RE 4 - The part with the maze and the friggin dogs jump through hedges.

Bioshock - A guy pretends to be dead then as you get closer to him he screams and jumps and hits you. I almost crapped my pants on that part.

Condemned 2 - Being chased by that friggin Grizzly Bear. Terrifying!!:o

Doom 3 - When some friggin monster jumps in between the stairs towards you.

F.E.A.R. - It was the part when your walking through the hallway filled with blood, up to the waist, and the skeleton jumps out at you.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - The part when Batman is walking through the Morgue and the little doors open and close voilently and the beds where the dead bodies lay also move violently, Meanwhile there are voices softly saying something along the lines of, "You don't belong here", and intensly getting louder and louder. Man, the sounds and setting of that part. I was getting like an anxiety attack. My heart was racing and I was gripping the controller really hard. That part creeped me out.:( I haven't finished it yet so no spoilers. :)

Also Silent Hill 2, When you walk around a bunch of mannequins and one of them actually moves!!!

There was also a mannequin scene in Condemned 1 and 2, in my opinion it was creepier.

For some reason Riven was very creepy to me. I installed it right after beating Myst and when I got to the opening sequence, I immediately uninstalled the game.

i really have high expectations with later silent hill games, this october a ps2, and i plan on buying all 3 silent hills, i am sure silent hill 4 is a scary game i have checked its images before, looks really scary game from the cover itself, i have heard there is a pool of blood near the bed in a silent hill game.

i am also looking forward to re4 and that dreamcast version later on ps2, forgot the name.

i am working here, at job, in this pc, now my boss's son is around 14 and let him play silent hill, that time around silent hill was still new to me as i had it just a few days ago, but as the that boy reached a place even new to me, since it was early days, i saw that dog's face near the basketball area, the boy was laughing but i was too scared and serious and i did not let him play anymore. i do not think under 18 people should play horror games.

and at gamefaqs some one mentioned this games should be played at night with lights off, (in their reviews), now i will not play a horror game in the tv at night with lights off, as with lights off even a rpg boss would scare me. yes i am scarily scared person.

and honestly i did not finished silent hill, by brother did, with cheating of course, i discontinued the game due to puzzles and i hate them, ofcourse i was also scared when i saw that bloody steels and human and monster type dead bodies tied up and hanging in steel package, scary.

You people dont know what a scary game is=) Penumbra now that is a scary game. It attacks you with its oppresive atmosphere like no other game and most of the time nothing even jumps out at you since its more of a horror puzzle game than action.

Resident Evil one.. from the first level where you run along and saw a zombie eating someone.. Then came the other zombies, which creep me out for awhile. It was my first and last horror game lmfao.. I'm still having nightmares from it.

There is this part in Silent Hill 2 where you are hiding in a closet that scared me. Oh, the hospital was also creepy.

Geist.

The part that made me jump was in the first level.
You and your partners are walking in a sewer or whatever it was, and one of your partners walks across a bridge and says "It's alright!". Then, a giant monster jumps at the guy and bites his head off.
When the monster came out the roof, i almost crapped myself XD

Dead Space was genuinely scary, Bioshock had some shock moments...but Clock Tower 3 left me weeping. Too bad the gameplay is so clunky.

In Lego Star Wars, this lego storm trooper shot me out of no where and I died, it was pretty frightening.

I think I did something wrong...I don't remember this part. Could anyone narrow this point in time down for me? There's the one part in BioShock near the cremation center and a guy hacking a body. When you get close enough the lights shut off and he disappears. Then when you try and leave he just jumps out at you. It scared me initially, but it got easier as you get to be more powerful. Also, the part when you get the shotgun, and then the only light is a small circle while Splicers jump out at you from everywhere.

it scared the **** out of me because the wolfs face covered almost the whole screen and it let out a massive growl when i had the volume on quite loud. it made me jump but i loled after for about 1 min straight.

Dead Space made kind of made me jump once or twice. I don't really get scared though, but it's come the closest for a video game

The ending of Dead Space got me. Mostly cause I was playing it at 2 in the morning and was already suffering a little bit of sleep deprivation. :P
