Anyone? I just started playing Super Mario Sunshine for the first time a few days ago and it just feels kinda lame or boring to me. Even on tough missions, when I get the shine I don't feel proud or anything. Maybe it's just this mario game that was a downer? Maybe it's because I started playing more mature games like Zelda: TP and RE4. If I feel this way, would I also feel this way about Super Mario Galaxy? So has anyone else grown out of mario?

Some Mario games seem childish, but there are still plenty of great Mario games. So, no.. I've not grown out of Mario.

Dude... That's because Super Mario Sunshine IS lame.

The day you grow out of Mario games is the same day you decide you've outgrown cake.

I never grew out of playing mario games, but I grew out of the watered-down mario spinoffs in every damn direction. After a while, it just got ridiculous. But, New Super Mario bros is the best Mario game I've played since Super Mario Bros. 3.

I rarely play any Mario games, but I have no problem playing Super Mario 1,2, or 3. So no.

I honestly don't really care for the 3d mario games. I liked Mario 64, but I'll always prefer the 2-d games. Mario Sunshine though, I kind of regret buying. I hated actually playing anything but the little puzzle levels...I'm so sick of collecting 8 red coins....

I do love the RPG/Mario&Luigi/Paper Mario games though. Just got Super Paper Mario a week ago and I can't stop playing it.

Traditional Mario games died for me at Mario 64.

Smash Bros and Paper Mario still own though.

P.S. not from "kiddie" but from the immense amount of suck.

nope, I good game is a good game, no matter who or what it is imo..., just because itsnot mature or have blood in itor something else doesn't really make it not worth playing, a game doesn't have to blood in it or be quote "mature" in quote to be a good game.

Super Mario World is still my all time favorite game. I miss the good 2D Mario games, Paper Mario just isn't the same.

If they would make a real 2D sequal to Super Mario World for Wii I'd buy it.

A lot of the recent Mario games I've hated (especially New Super Mario Bros.), but I still love Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World.

I got away from the Mario games for awhile, but loved the New Super Mario for DS. It got me revisiting some of the older MArio's on the VC. I still enjoy actaul Mario games, but am getting real tired of all the spin-offs (Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi, MArio vs. Donkey Kong, and any Mario sports title).

The Mario sports, party, etc crap, yes. the Mario RPG's...sorta, but the Mario Platformers will always be worth playing in my eyes.

I doubt they'd do something like that on the wii, maybe the DS, after they make New Super Mario Bros 2-3, maybe New Super Mario World:question: (these games haven't been confirmed but it would be foolish for Nintendo not to continue the "New" Mario Bros. series)

But if they do consider something like this on the Wii, I hope they use the original Super Mario World Engine

Have you tried Paper Mario TTYD? I'm just playing through the game for the first time (after getting it a year ago) and it's absolutely hilarious. It may seem like a kid's game, but after you hear a goomba complain about getting defrauded by a fake credit card you'll realize that it just has an odd sense of humor.

Last Mario game I really enjoy playing was paper mario on the gamecube, didn't like supermario sunshine, and though new super mario brothers was a bit average. I haven't stop playing then, I just don't play them as much as I use to.

Not for me no. I'm a big fan of the Mario sports games because they add a little twist onto the sport itself. Such as Mario Power Tennis, its controls are simple, however the difficulty can be set high to make it a challenging and rewarding game.

Yes and no. They feel far more shildish to me now than they did in the past but the pure fun of the games cannot be denied. Now, Mario Galaxy on the other hand is a different story. They are moving the game to a shorter more casual nature and taking an approach I am not very fond of (Bee costume?). I am sure I will still enjoy the game, but I have some reservations about it.

I believe that series like Jak & Daxter and Rachet & Clank stole the crown from Mario a long time ago.

Plus Mario Power Tennis does an incredibly good job of modeling the physics of tennis (without power shots)...

I've not grown out of them, because I'd never grown into them... I came to console gaming late of PC gaming, so I missed the whole Mario thing...

Yeah, I pretty much have.

The last Mario game that I enjoyed was Mario 64. Looking back at it now, it doesn't stand the test of time as well as the 2D ones did. I respect it still for being a groundreaking game and fun at the time, but now I can only enjoy it in small bursts. The 2D ones I still love, though.

I look at Mario Galaxy now and I actually get bored just watching the videos.

On the whole, I think I've just outgrown Nintendo's (the vast majority at least) game design.
