I never get rid of any of my games, unless they're terrible.
As a response to your question, there was only one time this has happened. A relative bought me Viewtiful Joe (GC version) for Christmas years ago like I asked. I think I was in my last year of middle school. I loved the game, but it was so hard. I got fed up cause I could never beat it and thought it was impossible so I traded it in. About 10 months ago I bought it again (GC version like before) brand new for 10 dollars on Amazon. Within a month, I beat it on Kids then again on Adults. Maybe I was able to beat it much easier because I got better at games since then. I don't know. Still have the game. Love it. Bought sequel at around the same time.
Yep, Killer7, I got it first when I was 11-12 years old, then I sold it, then I got it again on the PS2, I completed it (I also liked it a lot) and I sold it and then I got it on the Gamecube again and I completed the game at 100 and it became one of my favorite games ever.
I traded another game for FF VII with a friend years ago. Then traded it away for another game with another friend later. I bought a new copy a few years back and after all this time I haven't finished it (I got to disc 3, I believe). I'd probably start the game from the beginning yet again (on PS3) because I can't be bothered to dig out my PS1 and find room for it.
yeap just 3 weeks ago
i was looking for Spider Man 2 for Ps2. Couldn't find it
so i went out and bought a new one for $3.99...
then i found the old one 4 days ago :P
I have only sold (traded in, actually) one game and that was Yoshi's Island DS. I figured that Pokemon Diamond would be more enjoyable, and I was right. =P
Other then that I keep all of my games. But I have lost several games...
Kirby's Dreamland 2 - Rebought
Golden Sun - Rebought
Wario Land 4 - Haven't rebought
Super Mario Advance 2 - Super Mario World - Haven't rebought
Mario Kart Super Circuit - Haven't rebought
Mario Kart DS - Haven't rebought (despite really liking.)
Animal Crossing Wild World - Rebought
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga - Rebought
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time - Haven't rebought
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GCN) - My sister gave me the Wii version
If you haven't realized I have terrible luck with the Mario and Luigi series as well as the portable Mario Kart series. lol
I once had Gran Turismo on the Ps1 and sold it. Then just recently I bought it back because it was the first console game I ever owned, I just thought I would keep it because of that. I've actually been playing it alot more now.
I sold my copies of Allied General and Panzer General for the PS1 and later felt the need to play them again. I rebought Allied...and found out that I sold it because I no longer enjoyed playing it. Regardless, this taught me to never sell my games lest I end up going through this cycle again (and Allied General is sitting on a shelf behind me, unplayed but unlikely to go anywhere).
I've had 4 Xbox consoles LOL... that count for anything? ;) (No joke)
Oblivion, Mercenaries 2, and Fallout 3 (Because of the downloadable content) I bought or rented twice tho, after buying once. Prolly gonna buy Just Cause 2 again... since there's so much to do in the game to reach 100%.
I bought Haze, then sold it because I didn't enjoy it.
A year later I bouht it again very cheap because I thought I might like it this time. I was wrong, and sold it a week later :P
I have several times, ratchet & clank, ratchet & clank going commado, metroid prime, shadow of the colossus, jak and daxter, MGS2, and medal of honor frontline
I had a copy of Final Fantasy IX that my dad threw away with 300+ dollars of other stuff, and I end up buying it again for @ 15 bucks. My dad can be such an ass sometimes.
majadamus
Sounds like it...
i let my friend borrow paper mario and he lent it to his little sister. she thought he gave it to her and i didnt want to grab it away from her so i rebought it when it was released on VC.LoG-Sacrament
That was nice.
My stupid cat scratched my original Oblivion disc - I had to rebuy it. I owned Star Trek Legacy (shutup!) until I freaked out and threw it against my apartment wall (the campaign is insanely and stupidly impossible to pass). Then I saw it in the bargain bin at GameStop 2 years later and said "Ah, what the hell."
I sold Gears of War for Halo 3 back in 07'. Then I got a pawn shop this year for 10 bucks. It's a fun game to play every now and then.
Bioshock. I bought it, the next day my cousin and her husband came to visit and brought their kids along. They played in the house a little then went out into the yard to play frisbee, I eventually realized that I didn't have a frisbee and saw they were using the Bioshock CD. It was scratched and chipped to hell. Now I lock away all my games when they come for a visit.Treflis
OH...MY..GOOOD!!!!
I CAN'T STAND SOME KIDS..
