I haven't because I buy primarily digital but would be interested to know if any of you recently have been downgrading your collection or just getting rid of games you didn't end up liking.

Well, I downgraded quite a bit recently. Decided to trade in my Xbox One, PS3 and a bunch of games from different gens for each since I really don't have the time to devote to playing them that I used to.

Tough decision, but I mostly just play the Switch and 3DS these days when I do have time to game. Now I'm considering whether or not I should do the same for the Wii and Gamecube stuff.

On the one hand I may end up regretting it later on, but on the plus side it would mean less clutter, some trade in value to put towards Switch/3DS. Basically consolidating two gaming collections rather than a bunch of different ones.

Maybe I'm just getting old. :D

For me, I haven't sold or trade that many games myself and for the most parts, I'll just store my physical games in my garage but I did trade a few games I got during the early days of PS4 and decided to rebuy them on digital so I won't have to deal with space and more clutter stuff. I still keep my handheld games cause they are very hard to come by and not an issue compare to console's counterpart. I barely downgraded my gaming collection and since I went full digital gaming this gen, it helps alot and the only physical games I still buy are Nintendo Switch titles.

Edit: It should be noted that I personally enjoy revisiting the games I beat such as Witcher 3, GTAV, God of War 3/4, and many more I could name, so yeah, I try to keep my games because I'll revisit those games someday when I'm in the mood but digital makes it so much easier now, especially when it's on PC.

I sold a few bundles of 360 games but have recently had an urge to replay max Payne 3 and red dead 1.

Yes.

Sold a handful of games I do not intend to revisit just over three weeks ago. It's the way it goes, I look back on my purchases and think if I would revisit games, if the answer is a harsh "no" I either see if a friend wants to trade certain games, or I get something out of it at the store.

A luxurious feature digital simply doesn't offer. And the main reason I don't think physical gaming is going to die out anytime soon.

*One of the games was God of War (4). Beat it on its launch week and never went back. Not to mention just didn't think it had any replay-value due to its cinematic and linear pacing.

Not recently.

I have many regrets about selling most of my games when I was poor with other priorities during college. Mainly PS2 and PS3 games.

I kinda went crazy for a little while and tried to be one of those collectors that collecting everything.

Ending up selling/giving away a gamecube, Saturn, original Xbox, 32X, Sega CD, an extra PS1, an extra Genesis and a wii. And quite a few games for each.

Still have PS1-4, Genesis, N64, Dreamcast, Switch, and a Retron 5 when I get an itch to play some SNES/NES

I very rarely sell any of my games even if I don’t plan on ever playing them again. I currently have over 400 games on physical format in my collection so it’d be quite difficult for me to try and replay all of them again. I just really enjoy having a collection of games.

Haven't sold or traded any games since the 90's. All my old systems and games made good starters for my son when he was younger. He worked his way up through most gens like I did, just in a much quicker time frame. When I have grandchild, he or she will be able to do the same when they visit grandpa.

Yes. Sold a sealed copy of Persona Q2 3DS. Paid £27, sold for £85 on eBay.

A quick and easy short term investment. Sold it at the right time as Atlus reprinted them in September. I sold my copy in July >:D

I sold my original NES and all my games back in the day. Regretted that decision ever since and just box up everything when I move on now.

I usually only keep games with replay ability and games that I love.

I sold my NES and about 50 NES games and really regretted it. I also did the same with my Sega Genesis and about 50 games. I traded my PS2 games to Gamestop and about 50 PS3 games. I don't regret that as I never played any of the games.

I usually just sell games I really didn't enjoyed, so that's not very common. Then by the end of a gen I sell those that I don't feel are special to me.
