Playing A HD system such as the Xbox360 and the Playstation 3 is a luxury, being that i own both im real lucky. I'm thinking about extending that luck by buying an HD TV, from anyone that experience such gaming can you tell if it really hightens the look and feel of the games (in their respected pixelation of course). But the TV I'm thinking of buying can crank out 480p, 640p, 720p, 720i, 1080i, and 1080p. If anyone has played a game on any of these pixalitions I would like to hear a testimony before buying. Greatly Appereciated!

The selection of your TV will depend on what is your budget and what environment you are using. Many people tend to choose flat panels, but if you want a large screen with great performance, you are going to need to pay a pretty penny, though the makers are doing a better job with this, offering relatively large screens with lower prices. If you want a really big screen and have a moderate budget, get a DLP HDTV, perferably one from Samsung and they perform just as well as those large screen flat panels (excluding the very high end models, but those cost alot). Now if you want a really big screen and can control your environment, get a Projector, you can get a very large 100 inches or even more if it is bright enough (it doesn't cost that much to get a very bright projector), and 720p projectors cost less than $1000, with 1080p projectors cost around the $2000 range (with one cost $1600, and lower if you look around), some will be skeptical with a projector and get a small LCD, but you'll be better off getting a projector if you have a large enough room.

It's definitely better than SD, but it's not going to change the way you play games. The textures looks sharper in Halo 3, the text and map is easier to read in GTA 4, and everything just looks "cleaner" overall. If you have the money for an HDTV, definitely get one, as it'll improve your gaming experience, and in some cases might even make you better (being able to see an enemy easier), but if you're getting one because you think it'll be sooooo much better, then no. Same thing, just sharper and cleaner. Worth it if you have the money, but don't expect to much or you might disappoint yourself. But if you have a PS3 and a 360, you should get an HDTV to make the most of those console.

Its not a luxery, Japanese people are on virtual reality all ready, to them HD is charcoal grade graphics they practically spit on us. Lol. Anyway yeah it pretty much looks great on HD but if you have X360, I can tell you now that it will eventually give it RED LIGHT.

I play my 360 on a 46" Samsung LCD in 1080p and it's very hard to go back to non-HD gaming, like at my friends' houses or wherever else. I love HD

It's only worth it if you really care about graphics. Granted some of the newer games can be awe-inspiring and MGS4 on a 64 inch HDTV was possibly the highlight of my gaming career. But I wouldn't go spending too much money over it.
