In a press release sent to European media this week, Nintendo has unveiled their partial U.S. game lineup for 2008, including several third-party titles.

Lots and lots of shovelware!

And a few gold nuggets within the pile.

I'm sad to say it, but after reading that list, the only company to have a promising line-up was Square-Enix with the DS.

Yeah. Also, the new Castlevania and Disgaea for the DS are good ones.

Ugh. The disappointment!!! All I'm looking forward to is the new ToS game, Sonic Unleashed and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

I see some good titles on the list but I'm not too sure if it is enough. Where is all of the 1st party stuff? Come on Nintendo pick up the pace!!! The only game I'm really excited about is Animal Crossing City Folk. Matter fact, I'm going to go pick up the 1st Animal Crossing today for the GC since I never played it. I really did enjoy the AC for the DS though.

Well I see Sam And Max and Tales for the Wii, both will be quality games me thinks. A few others that I dont know much about so ill have to wait and see till I hear more. The DS has more than a few good ones though like Castlevania and Chrono Trigger. All in all between the two of them there may be 6 or 7 games ill pick up by the end of the year. EDIT> Wasnt Fatal Frame Wii supposed to come out this year?

I can't see why anyone in a gaming forum would defend this thing. And there are quite a few who do. Nostalgia for the Nintendo name?

Two years ago on this forum, it was considerably worse in terms of Nintendo fandom. What's changed is that the Wii simply doesn't have the software while by contrast both the XB360 and the PS3 are getting some serious GOTY contenders.

I'll probably get Lost In Blue. It has been too long since I've played an Adventure game... and I'm definitely getting Wario Land and Animal Crossing. Outside of that, meh...

Wow that's a huge list ........ of crap. :x I guess I might buy a few of the Wii games. Man if I buy more than two or three of those it will be a surprise. At least I don't have to worry about Wii stealing away my funds for 360 and PS3 games, which there are plenty of to pick up the slack. I'm now doubting my choice to buy a Wii though. Ohh well whats done is done, at least if any first party classics come out ever again I will buy them :(

That's rather disappointing. The only company that stands out is Square Enix. But just barely.

Nevertheless, I expect good things from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Castlevania: The Order of Ecclesia, Disgaea DS, Final Fantasy IV, and Dragon Quest IV, and Chrono Trigger. They had better deliver.

Wow Hells Kitchen for the Wii! I can't wait to have an angry british man yell and curse at me as I play a mediocre Cooking Mama!

Who else is camping out for this one? Can't wait!

I'll be buying a bunch of DS games, as well as a few Nintendo and SEGA Wii games. That's about it.

The game will be out in Japan before the end of this month, so I'm definitely expecting it to hit North America before April 2009. Other officially-announced projects missing from this list include MadWorld, despite its March 2009 release date, and Little King's Story, which is currently scheduled to ship in the last quarter of 2008. In other words, the list is incomplete.

Wow, Mario Super Sluggers (maybe), Animal Crossing: City Folk (maybe), Final Fantasy IV, and Kirby Super Star Ultra (maybe) are all that appeal to me...

Nintendo, if you read this, the goal is to MAKE ME WANT YOUR GAMES.

The sad part is this ongoing trend of shovelware will continue to persist so long as the Wii's fanbase vote with their gaming dollars.

Who will break the trend, I wonder? High Voltage perhaps? Only time will tell.

I love Nintendo for their brilliantly conieved and well-designed first party games. This means that for the rest of 2008 and until further notice, I don't love Nintendo.

You have no idea how hard it was to say that. :(

Ah well. Deadly Creatures is still a day-one purchase for me. I don't quite understand the lack of knowledge/hype for it.
