Hey man...check out Coldwinter. The maps aren't as big as some in Nightfire. But there are bots, I'm pretty sure...Most of the time I just play with my cousin. But the weapons are the best! You Have, close to six slots and you can pick which six guns you want in each slot. So you can have like All snipers or One sniper and like the rest be whatever you choose. Then there are 3 grenade and special ammo type of slots. It's really pretty fun. No COOP story mode but single player story is pretty cool. Check it out man. Downhill Domination? Played that? It's a biking game. You race down HUGE hills. Pretty cool. Serious Sam, The Next Encounter. What can I say? This is the PS2 version of the awesome and hilarious Serious Sam games on the PC. This game allows you to play COOP and I'm not sure if there is any deathmatch type of multiplayer...I haven't played in a while, but I've had SO many hours playing this with my friend and had so much fun shooting the aliens and monsters. And the level designs are pretty sick. I could suggest Red Faction, but it's pretty similar to Timesplitter. The only thing is that the bots are usually REALLY good and accurate...that gets annoying. BUT the most awesome part of it, and all the Red Faction games is the Geomod. You can create HUGE tunnels through the buildings and make shortcuts. It makes the gameplay different EVERYTIME. I've spent so many hours just making tunnels and forts. Really fun game. MX vs ATV Unleased. Racing game. But I mostly just do freeride. There are many different vehicles to choose from including planes and helicopters. I've played this soo much. It's a bit dated with the controls though. Still check it out. GTA San Andreas. You can play multiplayer and run around with your friends to explore the whole world. You have to share a screen, so I guess you wouldn't classify it as splitscreen, but it's still very fun. Midnight Club 2 is a racer, that has many cars you can unlock with cheats. It's pretty fun to just drive around and explore the map. Last but certainly not least, Goldeneye Rogue Agent. It's a bond game but not an official one. The multiplayer is pretty fun with some pretty large maps. I think this one along with Coldwinter will appeal to you most. Check it out. I hope I helped, even though this post was about 2 years old. Check out some of these games. Have fun man!

MX vs ATV: Unleashed was a pretty sweet game. Bought it for Xbox on a whim and spent countless hours on it. :)

Split-screen is when the screen is split in half or 4 ways and allows each player to view the game from their own viewpoint. Co-op games usually have an overhead view that pans as the players move.
