I've played through like three or four times...sooo, lots o' hours, lot more than 300 or so. I still play it about once a week, it stays on in my bedroom, i only have a ps2 up there.

Heh what did you do in those 300 hours?
Without exggeration, I spent 201 hours in the game trying to beat penance which required me to level up their luck level and they all have maximum status except for the magic which is in the range of 190s. Couldn't be bothered to make 255 since I don't use magic spells.
I played it about 10-15 hours, got stuck on fighting the one dude that you killed 2 times already and stopped. I didn't care enough to grind my party to the point where I could win. Anyways, I'M IN BEFORE THE LOCK!
Wow, hundreds of hours..?? You guys are nuts xD Was there even that much to do in that game? I've got maybe ~72 hrs in mine. I guess going after all the ultimate weapons and then breaking the 2 seals on each takes a while...but once you do Yuna's, I felt like I didn't need to do everyone else's..=P
First time I played, around 50-60 hours...this was without a guide or anything so I know I missed a ton...I played 18 hours in a row in one sitting too, my record personally and will NEVER do that again.
I managed to make it through about 12 hours before I just couldn't take it anymore. I didn't like spending far more time watching a game than I'm playing it. I was also highly disappointed that as far as I was into the game, I was limited to whatever set piece the story required me to be in rather than being given any sort of world map to explore. Without the ability to explore more, the typical JRPG things like blocking paths, putting you in a small environment where you can only talk and then run around until you trigger the next cutscene/boss fight, etc started to really aggravate.
I'm not as far into FFXII, but they made a lot of improvements in that regard. The changes to the combat system are also pretty nice.
