Buy a DVD player that can connect to your TV throw the normal TV cable. Then use the yellow, red, white slots in the back of it to hook your n64 up.

i've never encountered an hdtv that didn't have av ports, s-video ports, and most of them still have coaxial ports... so in my experience, no it isn't normal.

it probably is a prob for me because my TV is also a computer monitor. so it doesn't have all the same hook ups as a regular HDTV. i live in a dorm room so its convenient when my computer monitor is my TV as well.

then yeah, that'd be your problem. go with what whoever said above... get yourself a cheap dvd player with av connections... or a source selector. they sell both at wal-mart or any other electronics store for... basement price of $20. maybe less.

if your tv has hd ports then move the wires in each slot untill you get color or get a rf adapter which you can put av cables to and do it that way or use dvd or vcr with av cable hookups

Do you know if it has S-Video inputs? You can get cables for the system in that type also.
