With all the recent presidential debates going on, I began thinking if a President Simulator game has ever been created. Then I thought further I don't think there's any game that puts you in the true role as a U.S president. I've played thousands of games from many different genres and none have ever put me in a virtual oval office to be "Leader of the Free World".

You have games like SimCity, Civilization, B&W, etc that make you a president/god that oversees with a birds eye view (or satellite) the development of your land or country but none really put you in the authentic daily role of president.

I understand the concept may sound boring but its no different from those Sims games where you play normal people doing normal stuff. Surely the life of a president is more exciting and intense than your average sim...so why not? Or am I wrong and there has been a president simulator game created already?

Edit: Dont use the spell check here, it only jumbles everything up worse lol.

that sounds like a really interesting concept. you allways hear people say "if i ran the country i'd do this...". i bet the first thing people would do is legalize marijuana and prostitution. i'd run the place to the ground. it would be a mix of amsterdam and oceana from orwells 1984. not that thats the way i think things should be.

I would like that. I would also like a 'corruption' feature where I would make so much money for myself and bleed everyone else dry

No, really, I would play this game but I would have no idea what I would do ....

There is a game where you run for president. I can't remember the name of it though. I can't think of one where you are president though.

Sounds like a really interesting idea mate, i think the developers of TheSims should make it. Set the gameplay so that you start off as a low level politician and rise up the ranks to become the President. Include all sorts of features like creating new laws, banning products/stuff, sex scandals, drug scandals, scandals of all sorts, diplomatic talks with other leaders, addressing the country, dealing with natural disasters or terrorist attacks, looking after the economy, turning corrupt or staying true to liberty and freedom and of course add a feature to deal with first contact of an alien race lol.

'The Political Machine' was an enjoyable if fairly basic game in which you ran for electition... I can't think of any games in which you actually act as president however.

Well, I'd certainly be interested, but I don't think it would be a mass market game.

If you're interested in running for president (in a game), there's President Forever (as well as Prime Minister Forever and Chancellor Forever). It's $13 but I've gotten my money's worth.

Wow what a great idea!A President Stimulator Game or a PSG as I would like to coin it. You could play multiple characters through multiple time periods! You could start out as Marilyn Monroe and have to STIMULATE President Kennedy. Then of course you could play as good old Monica Lewinski STIMULATING good ol' Billy Clinton. For this level if you stimulated slick Willy fast enough you could get to play as that other blonde bimbo that stimulatedMr. Clinton. Itcould be loosely based on the Leisure SuitLarry games in some ways. Whata great idea.....Presidential STIMULATORS!!!FTW!!!

I realize this thread is old but there was a game in the early 90's already IIRC. It was called shadow president and you lead the country during the gulf war era.

I'd like it if it let me turn into a dictator and turn the US into Iraq, if you could do options like that it'd be a very interesting game.
