[QUOTE="ASK_Story"] Best Buy sells it for $15 so I think it's finally worth checking out. But how is the game like? I hear it's one of the best PSP games out there, so any impressions and thoughts about the game will be much appreciated.
How is the aiming or the gameplay? Is it similar to Socom Fireteam Bravo where it's auto aim? Also, I hear the game is a tad short, but I'm willing to let that pass since the game is so cheap.
Well, this game looks cool but I was never into Syphon Filter before, but if the reviews say it's as good as they say it is, then maybe I could give it a try.

Syphon Filter Dark Mirror is amazing. While prior sequels had just stacked disappointment on top of disappointment, Syphon Filter showed that the developers could still make a kickbutt game. There is manual and autoaiming. Manual aiming will lock one gun to someone's chest, with autoaiming one can go for quicker headshots. There is a premium placed on headshots for several reasons. 1) Some enemies wear bulltetproof vests, which one one can appropriate provided one hasn't shredded the vest 2) ammo is limited 3) if one wants to sneak through a level one needs to kill whoever one comes across quickly.
If the alarm is triggered, then the mission goes hot. Unlike Metal Gear, once enemies have been alerted to the fact you are on base, sneaking around if no longer an option (it may be possible to stealth through some of the levels, but I always wind up getting discovered and having to fight my way through). At such points in time it makes sense to start relying on the loud but lethal weapons enemy guards tend to use (machine guns, shotguns, desert eagles, etc.).
The hero has a sniper rifle which loads several different rounds including conventional bullets (deadly, but loud), electrified darts (which kills enemies silently), darts which release poison gas (silentdeath to an enemy and anyone close to him) when activated anddarts which explode when activated (loud death to an enemy and anyone close to him).He also has the normal range of special googles (heat, night) and one withno real world counterpart, that which enables one to see objects that can be picked up or used.
But you don't need to take my word or anyone else's about the gameplay. One can download the demo at the link above and form your own conclusions.

Thanks for the info, Carnage.
I said what the heck and snagged a copy, and I have to say that I'm glad I did. This game is definitely one of the best PSP games...honestly, I like it better than Metal Gear Solid Port. Ops...but just a little bit, only because of the short single player campaign.
But the experience is intense. I only played the first chapter but it was awesome as hell. I loved the sniping action and working with your teammates.
The controls were extremely difficult, I mean, frustrating difficult to get used to. I'm still not used to it, but it works and plays very well. It's just I'm so used to the keyboard and mouse or the dual analog that it was tough to juggle a hundred things at once. But I think I'll get slowly used to as I keep playing.
The game is very good. The graphics are crazy good for the PSP, better than a PS2 game. And for $15 bucks, it's a steal.
I think I'll have some fun with this one. This, Tekken DR, Ridge Racer, and MGS Port Ops., is worth owning a PSP...and Jeanne D`Arc is this week! Can't wait.
