Meh, gameplay over graphics for me. If the gameplay is exactly the same, graphics mean little. Of course if the RPG is one big sanbox like oblivion, then I can see how graphics may have a bigger impact.

Yeah... Morrowind/Oblivion/(whatever open-ended RPG) would work great with CryEngine 2. But JRPGs and such? It would be overkill...

Yeah, in a JRPG you'd have this lush cityscape, you'd try to go into an alley that has a box in the way.... you hit your action button and the text "there is a box in your way" would pop up...
If an RPG is done right, the graphics are really one of the last things you should be worried about.Alaris83
Immersion into the gameworld is one of the main draws of an RPG for me, so I'd say that the graphics indeed play a big part. Besides, CryEngine 2 offers much more than gorgeous graphics. A sprawling open-ended RPG with fully destructible/interactive environments would be fantastic.
