It was an amazing game. Honestly, it was the ONLY game I ever found worth replaying...besides Golden Sun on the GBA.
funny enough im playing it right now
my opinion of RE4 is that its certainly a better game then RE5, no questions about it
that said my favourite is still RE3, not even RE4 can top RE3 for me.
Once I got to the castle I started to get bored of it. Great game, but you've basically seen it all when you're done with the village.
Didn't really dig it very much. I guess the hype killed it for me, but after the village, I got supremely bored with it.
Wasn't much of a horror game, but that doesnt mean it was bad. I absolutely loved RE4. It definitely ranks in my top 3 games.
Fun, but I didn't get the Resident Evil feel from it like the prequels and even Outbreak.Treflis
Wait....did I miss something?...When did they make prequels?
I loved RE4, it was a good combination of the eery creepiness from the original RE games but also introduced a new system which was completely fun. The game could have used some more puzzles though :P. RE5 on the other hand, was terrible.

RE5 wasn't that bad. It tried to top RE4 and it didn't, but it was still a good game by itself, and the co-op was surprisingly well done.It was great, played it all the way through. Afterwards I was really sick of stuff thats evil though. It sure was evil that was a resident. :p
it's really a great game that managed to revolutionize its franchise, apart from not zombies. you have complete field sight and you can move in various directions just as a 3PS, but you get also some possibilities to make great strategy on game most using perfect weapons. also if i tend to prefer the original resident evil, remake, this is a totally new experience you have to try to believe. in my all time top 5?? no absolutely, but in my all time top 10 most sure!
If it was not for RE4 I would have dismissed the entire series. It's about the only RE that I could get into. Great game.
...chicago typewriter?[QUOTE="garrett_duffman"][QUOTE="bigM10231"]
it needs an ak47

I hope you're not trying to say the Chicago Typewriter is an AK...
no, but its close... theres no real point in adding an AK with the Chicago typewriter present.Coincidently, I just wrote a review for RE4.
As I was preparing to have my say on this thread, I read through the other responces and right now I'm convinced that the Resident Evil 4 I played is a completely different game to the Resident Evil 4 everyone else played. Apparently everyone else got to play a truly memorable game that was both captivating and frightening. The RE4 game I played was a game with wonderfully smooth and intuitive aiming and shooting gameplay from a third person perspective but in every other way dull and vaguely racist. The RE4 game I played made a mockery of an otherwise lovable series about B-Grade movie zombies. The RE4 game I played went to great lengths to ignore the fact that this had always been a survival horror series and not "The Terminator joins the KKK".
When I think about all the good times I had in the Resident Evil series, remembering there even was an RE4 comes mostly as an afterthought.
But like I said: Apparently I was playing a different version of the game to everyone else.

I think you were. I think I'll pass on your review too, if you don't mind.
... what the HELL are you talking about? capcom put helluva work and time into that game, scrapping 3 versions of the game before releasing this game. RE4 has set the slate for 3rd person shooter games everywhere. who cares if it wasnt as scary? it was a damn good game and anyone who thinks otherwise is incredibly daft. may god have mercy on your soul for that sham of ignorance some might call an opinion.Coincidently, I just wrote a review for RE4.

It was glorious. Best thing that could have happened to the series, I would say. If you get a chance play the Wii edition - the controls make a world of difference.
this was my first fps i played... i think i played goldeneye a few times... butgot this for wii and i didnt like the controls... in metroid prime you point the wiimote where you want to look. in this game you have to pressA just to lift you gun up then you aim ? i couldnt do it well... also i remmeber why i dont play fps... having to continously collect ammo depresses me.
I thought it was a very good game. I think I played through it about 2 1/2 times - it's awesome being able to keep all your weapons and upgrades from your first playthrough. My only complaint is that the game is massively overhyped. I was expecting the greatest thing in the entire world, but it was just very good.
