So, buying a AAA title costs for me I have to save up alot to get just one, and I celebrate it by getting take-away pizza.

I set up a ritual altar where I light candles and slowly remove the shrinkwrap, then open the case and sniff the toxic smell of plastic. After i'm done absorbing the smells into my nose I inspect the discs artwork and then read the manual carefully.

I then go to play the game.

When I get home with it I unwrap it like a gleeful little girl, open the box, flick through the manual and then play the game. When I get GTA V I may rub it against my face too and talk to it. :)

Ah, how could I have forgotten about the manual. A sacred moment indeed.

I usually add it to my library list. Then I post about it in a few communities that have threads for such acquisitions. Then I'll slip through the manual (if there is one). Whether I play it right away depends on what I am currently playing. It's a ritual I really enjoy.

when I was younger, I used to clean my room before playing  because I didnt want my mom coming in and bothering me about my dirty room while I was trying to play my new game.

My gaming ritual nowadays would mostly consit of me stepping over whatever filth may or may not be on my floor and pop the game in :P

On the way home from the store I drive slowly up and down the streets of my neighborhood, my head out the car window yelling "I just got Black Op's 2!!!  I just got Black Op's 2!!!" and I hold the box high in the air so everyone can see.

I buy it, take it home and play it. Nothing special.. I want to play the game so I get straight too it. It's not a woman, no wooing needed.

I can relate to every sentence in your post, even the GTA V part. Except I mostly avoid the manual until I am acually playing the game, because I don't want any spoilers.

That' s pretty much what I do although depending on my mood I may smell the game' s case/manual. God I love the smell of a brand new game. :D

Oh and if the game comes with a paper map (like a GTA games) I love to have a good look at that beforehand as it just makes me even more excited.

I play said game. Sometimes I'll get food, too, but that's usually after a long day at work or like a huge taxing or annoying event.

For instance, after sitting through the SAT a second time, I sat down and ahd me a double Baconator, large fries and some diet Coke. It was heavenly.

I cry a little bit for spending the money, then play the game a few weeks or months later.
