It doesn't bother me too much, and they have always worked for me....DeathStar17
I agree.Only a few times though I've been picky about a game not coming with a booklet.
So today I went to Gamestop and got Earth Defense Force 2017 used. I knew I wouldn't find it new, so it didn't bother me. Still, the game came without a case and a manual, and when I asked about it, a couple of the employees were being jerks about it, saying I wasn't going to play the case, I was going to play the game. I suppose I could've found that stuff online, still sometimes I just want to go to a store and pick up whatever it is I want. Anyway, any opinions? Ocassionally I bought a couple of used games that looked like crap too...viewtiful26
that happened with me today.
i picked up a used game but the case was FILTHY. it was ripped and had stickers over it and it was all grimy and nasty. the manual was also ripped and wrinkled and grimy as well.
i asked the guy if he could swap cases for me and he said "youre playing the disc not the case." ...WELL NO DUH!!
i like to have clean and neat game cases so they can be displayed nicely
i dont understand how someone would lose a game and a case. i personally keep all my games neat & orderly and they're always in great condition. i dont see how ppl can get their cases ripped and broken and stuff.
and if the previous owner kept the case etc in good condition it grinds my gears that stores like EB Games throw out cases to make more room, i really hate that store.
Used games are like a double edge sword. On one side I don't really support used games since the developers don't get any compensation from them. This isn't good for the small name games out there that are really awesome (Zack and Wiki, Okami, Beyond Good and Evil) and depend on the success of their games to determine whether or not they will have sequels.
On the other hand if I walk into an EB or Gamestop and see a used game that is in good condition I will buy it. I always ask to see the disc before I purchase it just because I know that EB takes about anything.
i personally don't really like buying used games, it just can be really irritating when you find scratches and dirt all over the game case, and I think the manual is very important to a game. One time, I bought a second hand MGS3, and the manual was all torn, which annoyed me because the manuals to the MGS games are normally excellent.
Charging me $45 for a used copy of SSBM in 2005. Still charging $45 in 2008. The game has been out for 6 years and a few months. All the money goes to EB.
When given the option of buying new or used, I always go for new because that supports developers so they can make more games.

Yeah...sometimes I wonder how these employees get hired, instead of apologizing or just saying that the game came in incomplete, what gives them the right to make such a smartass comment to a customer?
I buy almost every game used, because a lack of money, but the Case,Manual and Disc must bee in a good shape. In case of the Disc I even pay the 4 Bucks to "clean" them if I must and the game wasn´t too expensive.I got a perfect looking CoD4 for 38Bucks around 5 Weeks ago.I couldn´t complain.
Well, ppl do tend to get tired of their games a little too soon. I love it when I can get a game I missed for a low price. As long as the game is in good enough condition, of course.
