When you buy a game, old or new, but one you are playing for the first time. Do you sit down and just play play play until you finish it? or do you take your time and let the game last longer?

For me I always fly through games (campaigns) anyway. Which I always regret because then the story is finished and the second playthough isn't a new experience anymore

I can't help but overplay. I'll play a game until I beat it and it won't take very long. It sucks sometimes. I remember when I was younger it would take me weeks to finish a game.

I look in every single corner, and search everything. Never know when something will be hid under something or other. Even then the games seem to just be too short, and in no time been through it several times.

I like to go at an aggressively patient pace. If that makes sense.

I take my time with a new game. I try to space it out, which is beneficial, especially if the campaign of the game is short.

I take my time with each game, and try to explore everything. I don't just play that one new game when I get it though. After playing for an hour or two, I'll probably end up joining a friend for some multiplayer in another game, or just doing something else entirely. I'd rather not rush through a game, because I find it less enjoyable.

I'll play it for a good long while, then switch to something else. But I aim to finish the main game (whether it be a Campaign or whatever else the SP has to offer) before I purchase any other games. No backlog that way.

I tend to play mostly RPGs.

If I were to rush through, it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable.

i don't have much time to play so when i do generally its 30 minutes here and there. So i start on normal difficulty and if i like the game when i finish it i go for the platnium for it but i do check to see how hard it is to get it, mainly if it has too many online trophies i don't bother.

In RPG's I fully explore everything because I don't replay them. Other games I do replay on a harder difficulty so no probs.

Honestly, that depends on what game I'm playing.

If it's something like a role-playing game, especially if it's a good one, I take my time to enjoy the game as much as possible while getting as much as I can on my first playthrough. If I don't get everything, I'll find all of it on my second or third playthrough.

If it's something that I can beat within a day or two, like Prince Of Persia, then I'll go through it really fast and try to collect as much as possible before going through it all over again at another time.

I just play it until I beat it usually. Then move on to more new games (if i have any) or replay old ones. Currently, I'm playing F.E.A.R., and I need to play Darksiders after that.

I try to make the campaign as long as possible. Maybe even play just for 1hr per day and skip some days in between. Of course, Halo ODST I did play all day and saw every piece of content it has to offer.

when it come's to a game, I always take my time, for me it is that if im paying £40-£50 for a game I want to feel that im getting something out of it, plus, you never know what you kind find when you take your time and look around!

The first time I play any game I go on a gaming binge. I'll play it for 6-7 hours in one sitting. Based on those hours playing and how much I like the game determine how often I'll be playing the game from then on.

I just play the game. I don't paticularly rush or go slowly, I just go about it in my own time and I finish it when I finish it.

I like to take my time, investigate & explore as much as possible. My husband on the other hand just flies through, run & gun. I appreciate when he takes the time to play coop with me so I don't complain .... too much. ;)

When I get a new game i have to clean my room, I mean it HAS to be spotless I'm talking absolutely perfect (anyone else do this?). Then I sit down and game for at least 8+ hours.

I take my time with games, but I've found that about 40% of games I play when I stop playing the campaign for a couple of days I rarely get back into it and just can't be bothered to finish it anymore. And the games I play aren't that long anyway, I play shooters or action games mostly, so recently I played Dead Space 2 and had fun and played till the 11th level or something and haven't played again since, on the other hand I finished Crysis 2 in 3 days. If a game takes me more than a week to complete (regardless of how often I've played it in that week) then I probs won't bother finishing it even if the games been great and I tell myself I want to finish it, i just can't get back into it. It's awful really. :P

I like you, haha, I'm the same. But even if I dont get a new game for a while, I always get sudden urges to clean my room and make it spotless.

My style has changed a lot. I used to rush through games, but then I always felt sad (yet accomplished) at the end. Now I take a looooong time to beat single player campaigns. Especially if I get to a frustrating spot, I'll set the game aside and play other stuff for a week. I got DKC returns for Christmas and I still haven't finished it yet! I've been playing it extremely casually, its fun that way. Games that have a real story are different, I feel the need to play them at a somewhat consistent pace so I can appreciate the writing.

HAHA that was a rule my mum had when I just to live at home, clean everything up, done my homework! I still do this myself tbh, I feel more happy after playing 6-8 hours of gaming to see that the place aint a mess xD

If it's a 100 hours long RPG, like Oblivion or Fallout 3 I first check are there any points of no return and places that once close can't be accessed again. If it's a game that is designed to be finished multiple times I sit down and enjoy the show.

I sit in a middle point, i take sometime but i go right through it, once i finished it for the first time then i spend a lot of time on the details, side missions, eye candies, etc.

Lately I've been uncomfortable playing new games, especially complex ones, for the first time. I'm more and more likely to rush through so I can have my first 'proper' playthrough, knowing what to expect from the game, with a lot still to see, since I skip the optional stuff the first time.

When I decide to play, I play a lot. But I don't get the chance to play often.
