I like to have a good choice of games on me at any time - including some FPS, TPS, RPG's, platformers, racing games, sports games.. etc.
I like 'em all pretty much, I'm one for variety. Sometimes though, if I'm really into a game, I'll only play that certain game for like a week or two.
I prefer jRPG's, sRPG's, and adventrue titles. But really anything with good attention to story, so that mostly leads to more linear games. I also rally like it when they have offline co-op multiplayer so we can play through the game together. So, I like to use my head a bit for stragey and see an intense story unfold.
I usually loose focus and motivation in open ended games since the story is usually pretty light and this kind of decision making can be frustrating for me, haha.
Some party games like Mario Party and Rock Band are alot fun too, and are great for when groups of friends are over.
I need in my gaming life
Fun and simple like Geomerty wars where i dont have to think but i can if i really want to
Fun and simple plus music like DDR or guitar hero
Action and adventure provided it has a good story
FPS something where i can set it easy and just shoot stuff or set it hard and think
RTS/Sims to feed my eg
and peacefull things like Animal Crossing and Harvest moon to relax me
sorry, misleading topic. i changed it from 'what games do you like playing?' to 'how do you play the games that you enjoy?'.
i meant kind of... are you a logical thinker, rational, creative, do you play by the rules, or make your own? this kind of thing. so maybe choose a couple and provide examples.
i remember hearing from a friend that a programmer he knew liked to play games in the most efficiant way possible - getting from point 'A' to 'B', similar to speed running. it made me wonder how other programmers and 'techy' people played games.
i like soaking up an atmosphere. in ICO, i am enjoying being in that place and it's best to play in the evenings when everything is quiet. it's like a warm glow with only bird noises coming from the television.
