how does sonic still have a fanbase

the games have been terrible for at least a decade even when they try going retro it's awful like in in sonic 4. I been playing it since sonic 2 on the genesis and I cant imagine wanting to play any of the titles after maybe sonic heros they're all like gimicky fan fiction. It's like the creators just forgot what made the game good in the first place and that's the high speed sonic levels idk why they need to include all these characters and bs in the games

Because Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles, CD, Sonic 1 (MS), Chaos, Triple Trouble, Pocket Adventure, Adventure 1-2, Advance 1-2, Rush, Rush Adventure, Unleashed, Colors, Colors DS, Generations, and the upcoming Sonic Mania are all good. It's my most played series ever, and second favorite only to Streets of Rage.

Colors, Generations, and quite possibly Mania are great. That doesnt even count the recent ones that are just plain good. So its still a good franchise. They just made some poor decisions.

I have no idea, there have been several awful sonic games out the last few years and a couple passable ones at best.

@thehig1: Its probably cos there is still a huge community of retro gamers. Its a bit like the mario thing. Its probably just so simple nad fun that it is addicting. Don't get me wrong I don't play sonic anymore lol. I did when I was in nappies though.

I never really got into Sonic all that much. Even when it first started I just didn't consider them all that great. Sure I had some fun with them but it was pretty fleeting any didn't really stick with me.

How anyone ever managed to like Sonic better than Mario is beyond me.

Sonic was always better than Mario, Mario is an awful character. Just a fat Italian C*nt, hate the games.

Because it still gets good games like Colors and Generations, and decent games like Lost World and from what I hear the 3DS titles. And Mania is looking like it's going to be good.
