Hmm, I will try to answer as truthfully as I can, Ive plaied around with the console version, and here is my takes sofar (MP only belive me, no need to even try SP).
The maps are scaled to the amount of players, so the maps rarely feel empty (altho there might be one or two I found a bit too spread out (and this comes from an compulsive BF2 player, and those maps were huge.
There is something to say about the gamemodes for this aswell, Rush feels like youd expect, but the whole take and hold thing seems to work a bit less effectively on console then its PC counterpart (and this has all things to do with player count). The console version of the classical BF mode is not bad tho, in some ways its really nice that the game can go from the calm anticipation of conflict, till it breaks out in the most chaotic 4 mins youve ever seen, and then it calms down a bit again.
So it works, considering the consoles it works well too. Its a game I can only reccomend for its Mp, but then the MP is likely the best Ive playied this gen, PC OR Console, I suppose I can say it this way: Where the PC maps feel like they are as big as citys, the console version feels as big as some city streets ie. freakin huge compared to most MP games we have on console.
It is not that big of a leap over BF:BC2 in size, but the actual gameplay is far better, with way more options, and the maps I feel, are way better made, there tend to be a few places in each map where combat is just too awesome, and almost too well ballanced, I mean every class, every weapon has its use in those places.
