How long do you think it will be before Vista becomes mainstream? If it ever does.
I saw this article saying that only 6% of STEAM users have both DX10 Hardware + Vista.

well lets hope never. it has such a poor interace, its really a design joke!feel_freetwo
?Where are you? :(
When 8 gigs of Ram becomes standard on a rig, right now I honestly don't think the OS hogging up about a gig is worth the tradeoff. I ended up going back to XP because of how poorly my games played on Vista in comparison.NECR0CHILD313Same here, I have 2 gigs of ram on my computer and Vista still ran terribly! I went right back to good ole windows xp. I mean when XP was released in 2001, there were a few small problems with it, but they were worked out pretty quickly, Vista is just a disaster.
I just jumped ship and went to Mac. I have my 360 which is all i need for gaming now. I do miss games like Silent hunter, freespace and IL-2 and im gonna miss out on Crysis.
For your question though i say 2 years, people only seem to be getting it on new systems since not many people actually want it.

The OS doesn't hog 1GB. That's called Superfetch (I think). It memorizes what programs you use and makes a guess as to what you'll open next, and loads it into memory. I found it makes Firefox load amazingly fast now that Vista knows it's ALWAYS the first thing I open.
If you fire something else up, Superfetch is cleared.
Not until at least the Vista service pack 1.

Exactly, and also not until DX10 software/hardware is implemented far more by devs and is further optimized that it can become the new solid "foundation" on which devs will develop games.

Says some guy in a basement... I think Microsoft had enough money and time to research an optimaly designed interface. If you're going to state something like that at least explain why you think so.

i dont see the point, if you cant see the design flaws already then i dont think a person with a design degree (any excuse to wave my degree in someone's face) will make a diference. Please Log In to post.
