Its scary when you think of it this way...
I guess on deathbed we will be like "I wish I had those extra 3 years. I would invest them in going out more, meeting people, spending time with my family and friends and appreciating life than sitting in front of a tv watching pictures changing as I press buttons"
I have been gaming so long that the system requirements of all my games says "585K of RAM needed to fully enjoy this game!", "VGA compatible!", "over 6 megs of graphics!" or "beautiful 3D graphics with over 80 rendered scenes!". Good times, good times.
In my case it whould be awful to do the math...my parent weren´t friends of gaming back then whaen I was a child but I played a lot at friends...I got into gaming somewhere around the Atari 2600/NES/C64/Amiga 500-Era.Even if a bit loosely spread,it´s been a looong time ago :x I whouldn´t like what the outcome whould be,thats shure...
*thinks for a moment*
when I was little (around age 5 or 6) I would always love to go to the arcades and play some games there since I didn't have my own gaming console. that change when I was 11 when my sister and brother-in-law got me a SuperNES and gave me a couple of games. been gaming with that until high school when one of my friends brought over his Playstation and just left it at my house since they always came by there everyday. then I got addicted to gaming ever since. especially now more than ever. lol.
to sum that up, with my own console in my home, I would say for about 13 years.
without console (starting with the arcade obsession), about 19-20 years. lol
I have a picture of me aged 3 messing around with my sisters gameboy,
But my first was a master system aged 4, God i remeber sitting infront of the tv all christmas day playing sonic.
GOOD TIMES!
So that about 18 years for me.
One of the first games I ever owned was The Legend of Zelda. It was a gift, upon it's release. The gold cartridge one for NES. It now sits on my mantle, displayed with original manual and box under a glass case.
I have been a gamer since, as much as I could be. So since 87, I think. I played other NES, Atari, and Tandy games before that. But that was the first game I trully lost myself in and the game I consider to be my start.
