It's as long or as short as you want it to be. It'll take over 100 hours to experience everything. Be sure to download the Broken Steel expansion before you get to level 20, as it raises the cap to 30 and allows you to keep playing after you beat the main quest.RBerry82Dont the DLC's cost money? if so then i wont be getting it. cause i dont have any cash. (or money on a credit card. lol.)
The main quest is really short - you can easily finish the game in under 20 hours, maybe closer to 10 if you ignore the sidequests.
Then again, the story is crap, so stick to the sidequests. They can take as long as you want them, maybe around 30-40 hours of stuff to do there.
So i think this is an incredibly fun game. lol. But i have been playing for like 13 hours, and have only completed like 5 quests. lol. How many hours does this game take to beat? lol. It is fun as hell. but i dont know how many hours im gonna be interested in. cause i have a fairly short attention span. lol.tdg2377If you do everything in the game 100+hrs, if you rush through it can be beaten under 20hrs.
Can you go back and blow up megaton later on in the game? Cause i didnt do it when i first got to Moriartys. So do you have to go back and do it?tdg2377
You don't have to do it at all. It is completely optional. In fact I would never do it because
You can get a house there where you heal yourself and customize and stuff which is nice.
u can beat it in like 4 days if u want to fly through it... if u want a long game try the eldar scrolls oblivion...
When you talk to the girl in Moriarty's that gives you the quest, there should be a new place marked on the map called Arefu. Go there and then you find out what's been happening to Arefu, and the so called "sheriff" (or whatever he calls himself) adds 3 new places to the map and in one of those, after looking through it all, you can find Ian. I think it's in a metro station. The main quest took me about 60+ hours and I was taking my time. All of the DLC's were about 25 hours and all the side quests were like 30-45 hours or so.So on the quest "Blood Ties" where can you find ian (the brother).

If you stick to the main quests and just go for the end, you can beat it in around 15 hours.
However, no one actually plays like this. Personally, I've spent well over a hundred hours getting all the achievements from the game in two separate playthroughs.

The game took me about fifty hours to complete. I finished pretty much every major side quest and did a healthy amount of exploration. I also managed to master the combat and travel mechanics very quickly, thus finding ways to make the most efficient use of my time. I'm not saying that one is a "bad gamer" if he or she can't beat my "record" ; I'm just saying that this is the way I play. There's nothing wrong with taking 20 or 100 hours to finish an excellent game like this.
Took me 60 hours the first time, 40 hours the next. But since its a Bethesda game it'll take however long you want it to. The main story only takes 10-15 but the exploration will suck most of your time away.
