How long did it take you to beat Final Fantasy X?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
80hrs to complete the story then an extra 20-30 hrs doing all the side quest then theres the blitzball minigame that i put many of hours into
I am on my second playthrough, and I am at 80 hours and I have 3 of 7 legendary weapons fully unlocked and everyone is well on their second path on the sphere grid. I have spent the last 7 hours alone owning the blitzball league to unlock Wakka's legendary weapon. Before I am done I am sure I will have well over 100 hours well spent.
Side Note: Doesn't Wakka sound a lot like Bender from Futurama?
It took me 45 hours to finish the story and that includes about 6 hours of blitzball. I didn't like X too much...I actually thought playing blitzball was more fun.

He is Bender from Futurama. Same voice actor. And I have no idea how it should take anybody 60-70 hrs. to play through FFX without doing any sidequests. FFX was my very first RPG and it took me about 50 hrs.
Isn't there a bonus boss called Penance who's supposedly really really really hard?

Yeah, all of the monster arena bosses are ridiculously difficult. You pretty much need to have the best gear in the game to even have a chance at beating them. Even the easiest boss of them all is far harder than Braska's Final Aeon or Omega Machine (or whatever it's called). Basically they all have over a million hit points, they can dish out attacks every turn that do five-digits worth of damage, and they have a ton of other cheap attacks and debuffs. So you need armor that's been enchanted out the wazoo with things like auto-revive, immunity to status ailments, auto-haste, etc, as well as the legendary weapons for all characters.
On my current save my party was able to kill Braska's Final Aeon before it could even get in its first attack (mostly thanks to anima's overdrive always hitting for 99,999 damage) yet I die within seconds when trying to fight an arena boss. The only one I've killed was catastrophe and that was only because I spent like an hour doing the same pattern over and over and over again (basically it was "cast hastega, cast auto-revive on everyone, attack, die, repeat 30x").
Depend how good you are at progressing and beating bosses. But for a veteran FF players, if you play through the main story, 40h should be good. If you complete everything well...100+ hours.
all final fantasy games took me 40 hours or less to get through the story. i don't see why some of you took more time than that for just the story portion.

well to rush through the game, it would take about 30-40 hours.
however , I did some training, got the ultimate weapons, played lots of blitzball and other extras and that meant my save is at 60 hours.
I have a friend however, that logged in over 250 hours, his characters are insanely powerful (ie he beats the final and second final boss in 2 hits, even his physically weakest character is far stronger then my strongest character) so it really depends on how much you like it

Well that makes sense about Wakka. As far as the time to beat the game some people may not do all the side quests, but just a couple sessions grinding up levels can add a lot of time.. Or they might have left the game paused a few times cause time still adds up . I'm not sure, but I had well over 120 hours on my first playthrough so I wouldn't know about less time than even that. I was not trying to rush through the game, I was talking to everyone and just soaking up the story and the world.[QUOTE="gameguy6700"]

Most arena bosses are actually quite easy....once you get the Magus Sisters on your side. Yay for Yuna's ownage!
I do have all of the aeons. The problem comes when trying to fight bosses that have attacks that hit every party member for 33,000 damage, and then said boss goes onto use that attack every 3rd turn and inflicting your party with every debuff in the game in the meantime.

I beat one of the arena bosses, but I wasn't able to beat Braska's Aeon.
The one I fought was the big black bird.
Took me 100 hours to complete the main story but there is still alot of thing to do after that.
