In previous years more than 10. 20+ possibly. This year a little more than 10 with no more purchases planned.
i stopped gaming for a few years but with bioshock infinite and I got a new gaming laptop, i'm back into it. this year im up to 5 games. last year was zero.
This year so far I've bought new:
Ni No Kuni
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Project X Zone
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Pokemon Y
Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility
Harvest Moon: Animal Parade
Tales of Xillia
Grand Theft Auto V
Rayman Legends
The Wonderful 101
Pandora's Tower
Puppeteer
Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition
Dark Souls
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Resident Evil 4 Wii
Far Cry Predator Instinct
Games I've bought this year used:
Mass Effect 3
Gravity Rush
Rune Factory
Rune Factory 2
Lost Odyssey
I'd say one or two new titles each year plus a lot of Steam games when they are on sale. More than 10.
Depends. For current gen games, it's probably between 4-10 annually. The retro game count can be all over the place.
I usually get around 10 games or less. It all depends on the deals happening, new releases, platform, and etc. But 2012 was a big year for me, I got quite a number of games. This year has been slower, and next year might be even worse if I can't decide on next gen.
With only Tales of Xillia 2, Guilty Gear Xrd, and Dark Souls 2 on my calendar for next year in terms of console. PC has a few MMOs but no updates on them as of late.
More than 10 for sure. Usually 1 or 2 new games a month, sometimes more when including used or good sales. I'd say it's probably closer to 20 a year. And that's retail games. If counting XBLA or Steam then numbers rise dramatically. Checking my raptr I have played over 300 games on my 360 so yes, my life is nothing special.
I think I average in about 10 games a year. Often times, such as this year, many good and interesting games come out and I tend to buy them all. For example, I will be getting NBA2K14, CoD: Ghosts, BF4, and Pokemon X before the year is out. On top of the other 7+ games I've already bought. Luckily for me, my library has it's own game library and 8 out of 10 of the time it gets the hot games.
Hmm, those who buy 10 and under what kind of games do you play/buy?
Because even if you only play 2-4 hours a week with most games having a span of 6-8h its not a lot of games.
I tend to play Adventure/RPG games. There aren't many for the Xbox, so I buy fighting games and FPS.
I would easily buy over 10 a year(thanks to the gaming sales on the internet), but lately I have only bought 3 games so far this year thanks to the fact that I'm now going to college, and don't have much money. Hey it's given me a reason to catch up on my backlog.
Too many. Just bought eight in the last month. The sad thing is I have little time for my favorite hobby anymore... :(
242 thus far, but by far the majority have been from things such as Humble Bundle and other indie bundles. I have an addiction for buying games for cheap.
Good games are becoming rare now, most developers have taken to Regurgitations. ONly rockstar has actually accomplished a good one.

Good games are actually quite commonplace in my view. What is rare are exceptional and superb games.
I buy too many games, this year set a record thanks to PS Plus. But that stopped the very second I found out that none of our games can be carried forward to the next generation. I mean, i figured if freaking Nintendo could do it, everyone would do it. But alas, not true. Not even the limited backwards compatibility setup like the Vita has. Just nada, zero, nothing.

It´s actually quite clever of both Sony and MS not to included backwards compatibility , because what they probably will do instead is sell those older titles again on the new consoles :)
