Some shops will do it for you using a machine, you can buy the thing they use I think but I don't know how much it is.
The machine shops use is basically a buffer. I have relatives of mine that have actually used toothpaste (I've heard of people using peanut butter as well) then scraping off the excess. The scratches are filled and apparantly it has fixed their discs. I wouldn't recommend it though.
the tooth paste thing didnt ruin my game but it was the console that wouldnt read the game not the disk
but it worked great on other console
I heard the toothpaste thing as well, but it's a huge risk to take. And a buffer is expensive, well actually the refills and such are.Daavpuke
Try to find a shop with a buffer. There is a shop near me that will not charge you anything if they can't get the disk to work.
