I recently purchased Medieval 2: Total War Kingdoms for the PC. I own the original Medieval 2 as well, but it is on Steam, rather than a boxed copy. When I go to install Kingdoms, it tells me that I need to install the original game first (which has been on my hard drive for ages). Can someone tell me how I can go about solving this problem?
I doubt there is away around that. The boxed copy of Kingdoms will have no way of accessing the files from the Steam version of the game, you'd have to buy it on Steam. The expansion doesn't know where to look and even if it did the files are in a different format since Steam breaks them up to facilitate downloading and then encrypts the executable.
