I've had MP2 laying around for a while and didn't exactly get into it witht he first try but I'm absolutely digging it now; Just got the first translation text. Anyway I was curious how you all feel that the first MP compares with MP2? I hear the second is darkest and more story centric and I'm worried it might spoil my experience if I ever get around to the first MP.

I liked both, and they're both very good, but I remeber MP2 slightly better, but what killed both of the games for me was the last part of the first game where you'd have to look around for the artifacts or whatever it was, but it's there again in the second, so I'm not sure I even completed the 2nd one.

MP1 was simply jaw-dropping when it first came out. It ranks as one of the finest games I have ever played. MP2 was also very very good, but slightly dissapointing after MP1. It was bigger and in many ways better than MP1 but lost a bit of the wow factor between releases.

I give them both a perfect 10. The graphics, music, sound, gameplay, controls, atmosphere, and content are all just so damned perfect that it's extremely difficult for me to find any fault within them.

I liked 2 slightly more then 1. Eccos has a lot more detail thenprime 1. Iaslo preferd the atmosphrere better in Eccos.I just played through bothagain recently. But yeah I agree with someone else the fetch quest at the end of both games killed it for me. I never finished either because of it. I have the trillogy on Wii and it looks awesome on a lcd tv.

I would rate them 3 as #1, 1 as #2, and 2 as #3. All three are some of my favorite games ever but Metroid Prime 2 was my least favorite of the three. All the switching between the Light Dark world adds a cool element to the game, but gets tedious after a while. It doesn't make too much of a difference though, all three are must have games and I loved them all.

I like both of them, not as much as most(more like 8.0-8.5 games imo). Metroid Prime was the better of the two(never finished 2) because I was quite wowed with it at first. I got lost in MP1 a lot and found that I liked the 2D games better. I have Metroid Prime Trilogy so I plan to revisit them eventually.

I've played through the first one and would rank it up there amongst my favourite games of all time... From what I've played of the 2nd one it's just as good, if not better, but I got lost in it and became too frustrated to continue but when I'm feeling very patient and I get some time I will go back and complete the Trilogy

I liked both, but MP2 was much of the same like MP1. although they did put in a lot of effort to make the game its own experience and I think they succeeded in that endeavour. I'd rate MP1 93 and MP2 90

I liked both a lot, but the first MP was slightly better in my opinion... I liked the more varied environments and music of MP1.

I've just finished Metroid Prime recently, for the first time. So I have pretty fresh perspective on it. It was a very impressive game in atmosphere, environment, and even graphics. The graphics hold-up well to modern games which is quite impressive. It totally payed respects to the games before it. And most importantly, it was fun. The only part I didn't like was at the end when you had to back-track everywhere to find the artifacts, some of which were impossible to locate without using the online strategy guide. And the final boss was crazy hard! I just started Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. So I can't comment much on it. But from the little I've gotten into it, it seems like basically the same game with a few minor tweeks to the suit's interactive GUI system. I do have one complaint, which I hope changes as I get further into the game: The environments seem more sterile and boring than in the first game.

Wait til the later stages of the game, they are jaw dropping. I played the first and third games when they came out and only recently played through the second game this summer. You are right the graphics are so good they hold up even compared to modern games. On a side note if you think the first two games are good, play the third on Wii - It is amazing.
