I can not get into FFX because...

I can't get into FFX because Tidus' shorts are f*cking annoying. Who would ever think that this is a good thing ? It makes me cringe every time I look at him. WTF Come on !!! Who in sound mind would dress like that. The 2nd guy doesn't look much better. Every time I try to start the game, I look at those characters and I immediately turn the game off. I don't know why I hate them so much.

It's actually brilliant. I'll say the same thing I said 10 years ago, this way he's not too hot and not too cold.

seconded. FFX is to this day the only FF game I've ever played and it's really quite good. Odd ending, but that seems to be the norm in various media franchises today.

Also, that game was made in like, 2000. Have you seen the Fifth Element? 90's to early millennium had a very.. colorful.. (fantasy) designs back then.

I thought this was going to be about something trivial, so I'm glad to see that it's about the fundamentals of the game design. ;-)

I could never get into FFX since it was the corniest of them all. I did beat it once since it was so easy but never touched it again nor talk about it beyond just hate. The Wakka and Lulu mismatched pairing was another factor in my disliking for this game but FFXIII and its sequels are topping list of my most disliked ones.

I thought Tidus and all of the other characters were fine, and unlike an overwhelming majority I wasn't annoyed by Tidus' personality or voice. Most people who have a problem with the character outfits in this game probably don't have much imagination, and have a lot of trouble imagining a foreign world where people dress differently.

According to TC's reasoning, we should hate most movies made in the late 20th century, because the popular clothing that people wore back then look ridiculous today. And I'm sure future generations would find our clothing today to look ridiculous. If it's set in a different fantasy world, then it only makes sense that the clothing should be very different to what we wear in the real world.

Tidus in general is annoying. That damn outfit looks like something you'd see at Circus Circus. That being said, I have a love affair with FFX, and an even bigger one with FFX-2.
