Ive been playing sf4 for months with a fightpad and im almost g1. now that i use a fightstick (TE edition) its hard for me to control my character.

I need some tips on how to control the joystick. How do you do it?

the stick is definitely not broken either.

Just keep with it. This happens to EVERYONE who transitions from a gamepad to an arcade stick, especially after a long time with the gamepad. It's harder to get used to, but your overall potential becomes much greater.

Practice. That's all you need.

heres some tips for fellow street fighter players who are doing this transition: Play HD Remix. It has a much more strict input system and its already helping me play sf4 better and i only started doing this shortly after i made this thread

You know what, that's a great idea! why didnt i think of that? I tried HDR with my stick but only enough to frustrate me. Obviously i need to keep at it till i've gone completely mad and then maybe I'll see some improvement lol. I guess that's just years of conditioning playing SF on a pad but i will master the joystick if it kills me.

Practice, I didn't mind doing it as much as the fight stick was a lot of fun, and I got it right when I moved to BB so I was even worse at the game than I should have been but it was ok. Cause I never had the moments where I was like if I just had my controlelr I could have done x. Keep with it, they are a lot of fun.

Wait... if the fightpad is working for you, why switch? Seems like you're doing just fine without an arcade stick.
