I tried playing the mass effect trilogy a few months back and did not enjoy it. I am thinking of buying andromeda, but was wondering if I would like it.

Probably not to be honest.

Andromeda is fine, but I really can't imagine anyone sticking with it if they dont already have a fondness for the original trilogy. I mean, there was this one part of the map on Kadara with a quest that broke my game every single time I approached it. I couldn't even access my save file anymore, I had to load previous autosaves. It happened like 7 times.

Overall the quality isn't like seriously appalling but there's no way I'd be touching it still if I wasn't the living embodiment of my Shepard.

Personally I loved the original trilogy, but am by no means eager to play Andromeda, I don't like the move towards action that they made in the gameplay department. The story is also very dumbed down and kinda shit to be honest, and with many game breaking bugs still around months later, and the stupid looking animations that have only been half fixed at this point, I don't think that you would. The only people who really enjoyed the game were newbies, as they don't know how good the original trilogy was in comparison to the trash heap we got in March.

Probably not? But maybe?

Did you like Dragon Age: Inquisition? If you did, then you might like Andromeda; it's basically DA:I in space and third-person. With aliens. And space travel.

I had a lot of fun with it, but it is a completely forgettable game. I've said it before, but ME1-3 will stick with me until the day I die; I've already forgotten most of Andromeda simply because it is not worth remembering. The main character alone (your character) is simply...bleh. Not bad or terrible, it's just so underwhelming.

But it is fun. And you can get a lot of mileage out of it, I'd say if you can find it for <35 dollars, give it a shot if you're really curious.

I highly doubt you'd like Andromeda if you didn't like the previous games. The gameplay was always utter crap for the series, but it was the story that made people like the original ME trilogy.

Andromeda lacks the one saving grace the series had - story.

I agree 100%. I liked Andromeda but I'm glad I finished it so I can move on to other games. The original trilogy is probably one of my (if not the single) most favorite gaming experiences and I still look back to it in nostalgia. (Funny thing, as I'm typing this post the Protectors of the Earth track, which you'll remember from the ME3 launch trailer, started playing on youtube)

To the TC: Andromeda is a dumbed down version of the trilogy so without even the nostalgia goggles, I'm not sure I'd recommend it to you.

No. It's not different enough tbh that I think you would enjoy it.

To be fair Nope.

But on the other hand it depends on what you didn't like about the trilogy , if it´s the game style then stay far far away from Andromeda.
