Why would it be "of course it´s fake" (i know its a fake site and only made to troll) but with that said, isn't it any company's main goal to earn money? and not to satisfy some kids/naive people's idea of why they make the games they do.

Because I actually read it. The wording and the things said are terrible. Executives do not talk like that. Especially on the record. These are well educated people. There are certain formalities and sophistication associated with their roles. Also, no successful company is all about the money. You have to be passionate about your products and quality. You have to think of your customer's needs and incorporate that into your business.

But the general idea that the core reason is the cash isent that far fetched and even though you are right that you also have to be passionate. The main reason is to make money.

If a video game company doesn't make video games for some sort of profit, they won't be making video games much longer.

What a lot of people don't realize these days is that the video game industry is a business first, art second. Always has been and always will be.

The company as a developer has gone to complete shit, making nothing but remasters (often done so badly it's better to emulate the original), and Nice looking but shallow anime inspired junk that houses all the the shit I hate about their games and left out all the shit that I did like, you now like a decent plot, story, and characters.

Final fantasy 15 is their last hope as a developer besides kingdom hearts (Though besides those who really enjoyed the odd nonsensical first game who cares about kingdom hearts?) . Kingdom hearts I couldn't care less about it, though it will sell millions. So will final fantasy 15, but if it isn't the best final fantasy since the ps2, and doesn't sell a ridiculous and I mean ridiculous amount of copies, it could very well be the last big budget final fantasy released in this format. Japan's a completely different market then here and being a Japanese company you can expect them to shift to mobile as their main projects and publish western developer games to keep relevant within western markets if their flag ship tittles can't garner the support or review scores to back up to the amount of money spent on it.

Japanese companies just be fucking weird in general. Konomi, Capcom, Sega, Nintendo, Square-enix. All Japanese giants who led the industry, and all 5 of them are nothing but a shadow of their former selves. So many decisions and business practices from all of them that I've read about and literally shook my head at, with bewilderment due to just how fucking stupid they can be sometimes. Konomi firing Kojima, and absorbing the development studio while systematically wiping his name from all works they still sell that he worked on is just one of many decisions that don't make any fucking sense. And Konomi's not alone on alienating their top developers ( Or developer managers\project leads since that's essentially what they did). Sega and Capcom have done the same, and generally they leave to go on and make a successful tittle that their old publishing house wouldn't have even considered, like mighty number 9.

Bad/Old management being stuck in the past while living in a nation that games almost exclusively on mobile I assume is the main reason they all seem to stumble so much. Sucks I used to love all those companies games. Now I might play one in the odd blue moon. And I'm very much still on the fence with MGS5, due to the whole erasing kojima from the project in anything but a consulting tittle. I'm making a leap hear but I'd be willing to bet he wasn't willing to do certain micro transaction, DLC, season pass bullshit in the game and Konomi being the idiot company it is decided they needed those more then their top project lead. Sorry I should have said their only good project lead/developer worth talking about. For sure won't be if it turns out they went and after firing him added crazy amounts of that bullshit along with a DRM that's more hassle then anything else (GTA5 prime example of how not to do DRM).

After what they did with PSX, I don't even know anymore. Why is Squeenix still alive again?

If it were true, why would you care? It's one guy waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay at the top who's motivation, no matter what he thinks, would be money money money.

You should be more concerned about the guys in marketing, sales, and human resources. They're the ones that tell the guys up top what we want. Or rather, what we think we want.
