So this is my second title for 3DS and I'll admit I'm not generally into fantasy RPGs/MMOs (if this can be considered one at least on 3DS) but I really liked the concept of the game, I like hunting/gathering/skill building/weapon upgrading games. I'm trying so hard to "like" this game, and I'll admit I didn't put it down last night; I just have the feeling that no matter how long I play I'm never going to be as good as those who are die hard into the game, since it seems like one of those games that takes like 200+ hours to even get decent at.

So is it worth it for newcomers or should I just try something else? I'd appreciate any tips for beginners. I really want to get the most out of this game and not just on single player mode (which so far has been sort of easy for beginners... sort of). So tips? Or want to share how long it took you when you first got the game to really "get it"/ be good at it?

@amyh7292: I bought MH3U. It was my first time ever playing Monster Hunter. The only thing I can really say about it is that if I hadn't got the strategy guide as a preorder bonus, I probably never would have got anywhere with it.

@El_Zo1212oYeah, I'm liking it more now that I've been watching a LOT of online tutorials and what not. But boy it's not welcoming to new comers which is a shame because I'm finding it to be a lot of fun now that I'm more into it. I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone that hasn't played the originals since I came in as a newbie and really struggled with it. I only kind of have caught on now and I'm finding it to be pretty addicting.

It ain´t a competition buddy, if you have that mindset : " being as good as" then change hobby, of course, you will always find that you are not " as good as ".
