SEGA has published and/or developed some truly amazing and truly original games: Total War series Valkyria Chronicles series Yakuza series Sonic Colors, Generations Virtua Fighter 5, upcoming Final Showdown Platinum Games (Madworld, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Infinite Space, Anarchy Reigns) Condemned Binary Domain The Club Outrun 2006, Online Arcade The House of the Dead Overkill, 4 Feel the Magic, The Rub Rabbits Sonic Rush, Rush Adventure, Colors DS, Generations 3DS Without SEGA I don't know what the hell I would do. And anyway, the idea that SEGA would simply die is absurd. They have too much talent, too much history, and too many valuable IPs. Any major console manufacturer or content provider would do very well to acquire SEGA -- can you imagine how happy Valve would be to have Sonic, Total War, and Football Manager exclusive to Steam? Think Apple would like Sonic and Monkey Ball exclusive to their platforms? Think Nintendo would have some ideas about how to use SEGA's warchest of great franchises?
I acutely just did a video regarding the Dreamcast going under a little over a year after its launch, funny how history comes full circle and people are once again talking about Sega possibly heading down that road again. However, I concur that Sega will not "go under." They'll restructure and do what they need to do because their core franchises are still making money. It'll be a while before that well runs dry.
