Violent. And I hope you don't simply rate a game due to its violent contents. That would be fairly shallow.

certainly seemed more violent than GTA IV.

Well if RDR should be rated T, then so should Borderlands because of the Frilly Colurs.

Seriously though, I'm surprised it didn't get an AO rating. It's just brutal and I'm shocked at what it allows. Great game, but man. If any games out there today deserve an M rating, it's R*'s.

I think the M rating for it is appropriate. It has alot of violence and blood, and I do believe I've heard a couple of F-bombs dropped by characters in the game.

I think Red Dead Redemption should have had a longer campaign for a sandbox game. RDR is awesome but for such an open game I was expecting it to last longer than the 12 hours it took to finish the linear (but awesome)Alan Wake.

So TC... do you have any specific examples from GTAIV or RDR that supports your claim that RDR is less violent than GTAIV?

That, plus Red Dead Revolver was a spaghetti western, and is unrelated to Red Dead Redemption story-wise, being a more serious, with little hints of other genres.

In a way, to emphasise the themes in Red Dead Redemption, these things were necessary.

Besides, it's not as if our clothes are permanently affixed to our skin. Gotta expect it some time.
