I think this industry is confused on where it wants to go. Does it go all the way digital or not and suffer like the music business to piracy? The battles on the forums and aboard is making from gamers all the way up to executives confused to me. For example

  • digtal download v. cloud gaming v. physical
  • hardcore v. casual
  • Apple vs the rest of the business
  • PC vs. consoles

The last battle I think is really tearing the game industry apart because it is causing gamers to shift into two camps PC camp and console camp. I really been a console guy all my life because that where all the games been. On PC you don`t have motion controls and some other things that coming for the Xbox 360. You can now watch cable channels over Xbox Live which I think the PC doesn`t have without the need cable box. PC has superior graphics and some other things I don`t remember. I believe PS3 is getting a MMOFPS which has the potential to change the market.

The great thing about gaming is that the industry is big enough to fit all of those ideas.

People like different things. That's not confusion, that's just catering to all the various segments of the market. How would it be if they took a vote as to whether we should ALL be casual or hardcore? Play on consoles or PC? Heck, you'd lose a huge number of gamers every time a decision like that was made.

I'm giving you 2/10 on the troll scale. I've seen far better.

Remember Coke vs Pepsi? It's not just the gaming industry
