A Genesis is fine, but would what satisfy my oldschool craving would be a big, fat gray Gameboy.

Genesis sounds like a good idea. I would personally recommend a NES (phenomenal system, though not as mindblowing as the SNES) or a Dreamcast (amazing) also.

NES, Sega Genesis, or Sega Dreamcast would be the best options.

If you can afford it, why not a Neo Geo?

Really get a PS2. There are so many many good games that you can get for next to nothing as well and being able to get PS1 games too. But go for a genesis(megadrive over here in UK) if you wanna go a bit retro because there are lots of good games for that too,

Alot of small game shops now sell consoles that play both Genesis and SNES games for the same price you'd pay for a used one of each. It's worth a look.

I prefer a PS2. The fact you can play PS1 and 2 games make it the best system ever. There's countless classics for you to choose from.

Everyone here is gonna have a very different opinion so you'll have to make up your own mind, but...

SNES if you like superior music, lots of RPGs, and more mainstream stuff. Genesis if you like arcade-style games, beat 'em ups, space shooters, etc.

Same deal with PS1. It's a GREAT system; tons of RPGs, Metal Gear Solid, and a huge variety of games.

My personal suggestion, since you already have a SNES, is to go with an NES. Pick up all the classics (SMB, SMB3, Metroid, Zelda). It's such an amazing system.

Get a SEGA CD-X (MULTI-MEGA in Europe), this hybrid system manufactured by SEGA plays both Genesis games and Sega CD games :D

I'd get a Genesis since you already own a SNES. After that, go with the NES.

Possibly. I've seen ones that play everything. Again, I don't know what Nintendo and Sega think of this hardware. For like..$50 it can't really hurt to give it a shot, better than buying each console.

do not go with the fc twin , if you were to go with a 3rd party dual system for snes nes get a retro duo ,,, it plays through the actual hardware thus almost all games are compatible , the fc twin uses emulation , , , somthing to look at when getting into one of these , he already has a snes so just getting a top loader nes should do , ,

but id go with a ps2 or genesis ,

-ps2 because games are still being made for it , and you also can play ps1 games on it ,

genesis since you have the snes , you might as well get somthing else in that era

i got everysystem from atari 2600 and up except 3 other atari consoles and 1 sega console,

saturn if your into arcade like games

A Dreamcast or Genesis sounds like the way to go.

No, there are good games for the SNES that you should look into. One of my favorites is Spiderman and Venom: Maximum Carnage, but other great ones are Zelda a Link to the Past and Super Mario World as well.

even though it cant play 15 more games than it, it plays them 99% correctly
