If GTA4 got 1.0 at GS would you still buy it?

In order to get 1.0 at GS it would have to be pretty bad.

My favorite game of all time is timesplitters 2, if TS4 it got anything below a 6 it would be a sure rental so while gta4 is a must have anything below 6 i probably wouldnt get it. i mean has a game ever gotten a 1.0? it would have to be so bad you wouldnt even let someone pay you to review itjoecow678

I think Big Rigs was the only game to get a 1.0.

I'm not sure if you guys are aware, but there's a thread here about EGM saying in their editorial that certain publishers told them that because of negative reviews, they will no longer advertise or give EGM preview copies of their games.

I had hoped that between that, and the rumored reasons for Jeff's firing, that people would start to rely less and less on reviews and scores. So hopefully people that like and are interested in GTA will pick it up regardless of its score.

It won't happen because dude it's GTA and the scores from every publication are going to be inflated.

But if it turned out to be genuinely bad (as in, many outlets had given a low score) I wouldn't play it. I might like GTA a whole lot in general, but I'm not one for brand loyalty. As soon as the quality dips, I bail.

Nobody actually was looking forward to Kane and Lynch though. I think the only game that was really hyped and got a bad score was Killzone. Didn't it get under 7?

Wasn't Lair a highly hyped game? I don't recall it getting many favorable reviews._Dez_

I wouldn't say it was highly hyped, but there was some hype (for reasons I just don't understand).

Well, if GS was the only site that gave it a low mark, then I would suspect sthg. I would still seek to play it, though.
