More Sonic Adventure? More Jet Grind Radio? More Shenmue? More Crazy Taxi? More Virtua Fighter? Another GOOD PSO Game? More NiGHTS? More Gunstar Heroes (In 2D, Not 3D!)? That = Yes.
More Sonic Riders? More Full Auto? More Sonic games like Sonic for PS3/360? That = No.
No, because
1) I already have one
2) I'm trying to sell the one I have because there aren't any games left that I want to play, and
3) Why would I shell out money for a NEW LAST-GEN system? If I'm going to buy a brand new console, it will be a PS3 or 360.
Now, if they came out with an all new 'Dreamcast 2' new-gen console, that would be a different story.
Well... The question was worded pretty strange, so let me tell you what I would do.
The first Dreamcast I had was the special "Sega Sports" edition, complete with a "Sega Sports" controller. The console was black and it blended in nicely with my other black console lineup I had going at the game (Xbox, Playstation 2). But eventually it broke. I don't know how, but first it wouldn't read discs, then the controllers wouldn't respond on the main menu at all, and finally it just never started again (R.I.P old friend).
The second Dreamcast I bought was the standard Grey one, and it is still working. But after having a Dreamcast die like that it makes me think that eventually, the world will run out of Dreamcasts.
So, if Sega would make a few new Dreamcast's every now and then, I would buy one as soon as mine breaks (if it breaks).
i'd buy the old dc, missed out on those games cuz i saw the crappy looking controller
i wouldn't get a new sega console because most of their good studious are sold off. i don't think virtua fighters is enough of a sell to me....they lost 2k sports already so yea....
The original Dreamcast captured a lot of unique titles. Shenmue, D2, Maken X, and so on.
I don't think it can be remade. It was too good the first time--no console, even a new or remade DC, can capture everything that system did.
No. I wouldn't. There is no chance in hell they would ever get any kind of 3rd party support. The DC had problems with this, and Sega is only in a tougher situation now then they were back then. A Dreamcast 2 would fail misserably.
Something really should be done about bringing back VMU's and having screens on controllers. That was really my favorite part about the DC. I am absolutely stunned that none of the next-gen machines used that idea. I thought for sure this is what the Wii controller was going to do back before they actually revealed it.
