But then begins the argument that on an island you can find food and water, not in a sealed roomsodeath would be coming in a few days anyway, so why bring a game to play when you should be using your time to try and get out of the room.

Left 4 Dead. that game is strangely addicting for a game with only 4 campaigns. but nothing outdoes the satisfaction of killing a straggling survivor single-handedly as a hunter or smoker...
I don't know. Probably a deep strategy game that has scenarios which can play out in a bunch of different ways. Like X-COM: Ufo Defense. Even though I'm terrible at those kinds of games, I would have plenty of time to learn.

If I were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one game it would be one that i would not mind using for a coaster since there would be no way to play it anyhow.:P
If I did have access to internet service I would be using the browser to call for help and Playing Oblivion while I waited.
