Definitely Mass Effect. It is now my favourite sci-fi universe and among my favourite games of all time. For a modern game the depth is quite astounding and the alien races (albeit they speak English) are pretty unique. I'm also a sucker for those asari. Plus, thanks to my ability to connect with characters empatheticaly, I already consider myself Commander Shepard.

I'd go for the Advance Wars universe (Dual Strike, not Days of Ruin) to he a CO or Liberty City (GTA IV), because I could be a mack-daddy gangsta, straight up, g. (lol about the latter)
Fallout or Fallout 2, as the Vault Dweller or The Chosen One. I would love to be able to explore the wastelands, help people, and shoot raiders and super mutants and other assorted "bad" people in their naughty bits.
