I agree wholheartedly. Though she is not the most evil, GlaDOS is certainly the most memorable villain I've ever beaten. What do you say?

I am not sure If I would pick GlaDOS as the nr.1 but I have nothing against it, it is a very very wellmade character, altho I almost have a hard time calling it a villan...
I would likely rank GlaDOS lower then Id rank SHODAN, but in the end I do understand thier reasoning :P
I didn't find her that memorable. I might remember a line or two and of course the song but I can't recall entire scenes of dialogue like I can for certain other villains, like Jon Irenicus. Actually, I rarely even remember her name. Of course, most villains aren't really memorable at all so she would definitely be somewhere on my list.
Scenes with Jon Irenicus
Some of the best parts at 5:14, the scene at 6:08....actually theres no point in listing scenes everything he says is great, he even kicks ass in his death scene (I don't think it is in the video)
Death Scene
Could have beaten a few down even as a Mage in the old D&D rules.
GLaDOS is definitely top 5 worthy, but No. 1 Idk. I mean Kefka, Sephiroth, Ganondorf, Liquid Snake they could all have easily gotten th Number 1 spot. Although I wont take away from GLaDOS she definitely does deserve the recognition as one of the greatest villains ever, but No. 1 just doesnt feel right, I just feel that there are so many other worthy candidates.
Shodan has far more "character". than gladosdakan45YES! If they were going to choose an AI as greatest villain they should have chosen Shodan
[QUOTE="dakan45"]Shodan has far more "character". than gladosbigboss1203YES! Incidentally, don't Bioshock and Heavy Rain have the greatest story, characters, and atmosphere ever?
YES! If they were going to choose an AI as greatest villain they should have chosen Shodan But kids these days haven't played games like System Shock or Deus Ex. Incidentally, doesn't Bioshock have the greatest story, characters, and atmosphere ever? If you look at my profile, Youll see I gave Bioshock a 5.5 so no, Bioshock has nothing on System Shock. Yeah Bioshock has a plausable story, and an OK atmosphere but got horrible by the end of the game. Frankly I thought the gamepay was awful. But anyways, yeah I know most 15 year olds like myself have not played System Shock, but they shouldnt have judged the greatest villain by how popular the games they were in are today. Sorry if that doesnt make any since I just woke up :P[QUOTE="bigboss1203"][QUOTE="dakan45"]Shodan has far more "character". than gladosLegolas_Katarn

'The only thing you're managing to break, is my heart.'
THE best villain? Dunno, but she definitely memorable.
Where's Blinky the red ghost from Pac-Man? That was one heinous villain and criminal mastermind. His character wasn't quite as polished as Sephiroth, but he was far more badass, IMO.
No swords, no long hair, or memorable quotes, he just chases your ass down and erases you. Now that is heavy stuff.

Sorry if that doesnt make any since I just woke up :P To be honest i was highly unerwelmed by bioshock, the story was uninteresting since it was a complete ss2 ripoff. Nothing new to impress me. The gameplay was actionish and where the hell is the inventory? The maps felt les like an underwater city and more like a linear fps that you could go back and forth through bulkheads. The enemies were weak and the pc version ahd annoying mouse aiming. At the end i was dissapointed but it was an ok game with nice graphics. I gave it an 8.0 but i am rethinking about it [QUOTE="bigboss1203"] YES! If they were going to choose an AI as greatest villain they should have chosen Shodanbigboss1203
If they ranked the villains solely on how memorable they are, GlaDOS should not be #1. You can argue that GlaDOS is a better character than Bowser, Ganondorf, or Sephiroth but there's no WAY GlaDOS is more memorable. JML897i agree how the hell did she get first? i think she maybe deserves 50? i didn't really like her. i say darth malak or something should be first for me.
Is the titular monster from the game "The Darkness" on the list? If not, the list is automatically invalidated.
The Darkness was one of the best villians in recent gaming, especially because the creature was not only an evil form that had control of you, but it was also one of your greatest weapons against your other enemies. Mike Patton did an awesome job bringing the monster to life.
Also you put in Sub Zero but omit Scorpion? That's a vdeogame sin as far as I'm concerned.Nifty_SharkSub-Zero is better than Scorpion... :P
If it was most hilarious villian of all time then maybe...but honestly when i saw the top 100 villians GlaDOS never even crossed my mind. When i saw sephiroth, ganondorf, bowser, I was like who the heck is #1? Idk i would put her on the list but i don't know where. A lot of the villians got ranked way to high, such as the pac man ghosts.
I usually judge villains on motivation and action. A good villain should be a character with a reasonable motive. I should be able to, on some level, no matter how twisted, sympathize with the villain, or, at worst, understand why he does what he does. If I can't feel bad for the villain, he's just a black hole of pure evil, which isn't particularly fun. However, the villain also has to do something. Kill the girl, destroy the town, threaten the fabric of reality, it doesn't particularly matter except that it should be a fiendish thing to do. Villains that are funny (such GlaDOS and Fawful) can be an entertaining change of pace, but generally aren't very well developed, so I can hardly count them as "good villains".Fragasnap
I actually disagree. Just because Glados doesn't kill your best friend in a huge action scene, or do anything else that would be typical of some sort of action movie villian, doesn't make her a bad villian. She's actually pretty unique, as IGN pointed out, she acts both as someone who guides you a bit through the gameplay, but also provides a grander goal in the story, in the way of the antagonist.
Portal impressed me, because it's actually one of the few games I've played, that manages to maintain both an incredibly cold and mysterious atmosphere, while actually being quite funny. You play the lab mouse, and Glados is the cruel maze master, yet, she also has tons of personality. Her relationship with the player is more effective and focused than that of most game villians out there, who usually only appear in a few certain cutscenes throughout the game.

The words which I wanted to say but didn't have half the brain to formulate. Will you marry me?I don't agree with IGN period in anything and definately not on their Top 100 villians list. GLADOS? Come on I can think of way better Villians then that to put in the #1 spot. They totally ripped off a lot of good villians to give spots to Zombies and The Combine?! What the hell is that all about? That's 2 perfectly good spots wasted on something as unoriginal and carelessly thought of as that. Rediculous, IGN needs to stop existing.

I agree, The Darkness is an awesome villain and Mike Patton nailed it.
GLaDOS is a great choice, but the rest of the list is crap. Half of it consists of enemies, not actual villains.
