Hi All, Im new here. :) I've had this PS2 for quite some time but the whole "gaming" thing never really caught up. I recently took it out and looked at a few games I had. I just finished Resident Evil 4 and Black. I really enjoyed both. Gameplay and graphics wise. I have some nice games on the rack (God of War, Devil May Cry, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, some racing, and some other random stuff) but nothing really got me hooked to playing to the finish like RE4 and Black. The graphics perhaps? The game style? The gameplay? Im not sure. The others just seemed lame to me. Can you please recommend me some games that you think I would like? Thanks everyone. Cheers! :)

Sly Cooper and the Thevieus Raccoonus. I could probably beat all three in a day, but something about them is fun and that something is what the entire series is filled with. Jak and Daxter 1, 2, and 3 are good, too. Final Fantasy 10, Tekken 4 and 5 (TK5 has Tekken 1,2, and 3 complete in-disc), Grandia 2. King of Fighters XI. Capcom vs SNK2,Metal Gear Solid....

The PS2 probably had the best library out of the last generation of consoles.

Don't bother with shooters after Black, nothing last gen can compare. Try these:

MGS 2 and 3

Shadow of the Colossus

GTA: Vice City or San Andreas

Those should get you started, but it really depends on what kind of thing you're looking for, because there are loads of great little games depending on what you're interested in.

If you liked Resident Evil 4, then you should definetly play Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. It's a little different with the controls, but that same survival feeling, deep storyline, impressive cutscenes, and horror aspects of the game are there. Those are the things that make Resident Evil games great. Since PS2 can also play PS1 discs, I'd recommend checking out Resident Evil 1-3 as well. The graphics are dated compared to the PS2 games, but if you value gameplay and story over graphics then you definetly won't be disappointed. Other than that, you just have to explore. There are tons of game genres out there and there's really no way to tell what you're gonna like until you try them. Here's my favorites in each genre, though: Action: God of War (It really is a beautiful and bloody violent game, give it a chance) Role-Playing Game: King's Field: The Ancient City Fighting: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Music: Guitar Hero Series Racing: Need For Speed Underground Wrestling: WWE Smackdown vs. Raw series Horror: Resident Evil: Code Veronica X Platformer: Pac-Man World 3 Compilation (Collection of old games) The Sega Genesis Collection First-Person Shooter: -Red Faction II -Nate-

You cant go wrong with Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater. The Substance versions of those games are alright, a bunch of useless extras I never got into. I also spent alot of time playing Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto Vice City, San Andreas not so much. Thats just me. Other than that the racing games were pretty good, Grand Tourismo 3 and Grand Tourismo were the best for me. Very Realistic and ahead of their time. Quite amazing for being 6th gen games. Games like Ratchet and Clank weren't my type of game. Little bit too Childish for me. But if your geared more twards serious games and not mindless fun and just looking for things for reasons of unlocking crap or what not then your good with those. Oh and Welcome to the community.
