final fantasy tactics.  I couldn't tell you one thing about the story line becuase it was so convoluted, but i loved the gameplay.

I think the best game of all time should be defined within every genre. It's really difficult to choose just one.

Too many disagreements.

But in my personal opinion, I think the greatest game of all time is Tetris because the game is simply designed, yet very deep and complex to play. It also withstood the test of time and will be enjoyed in another 20~50 years. Also, there's no other game that's been remade into different versions than Tetris.

If there's such thing as perfection in game design, Tetris comes the closest...the original and traditional version of course, without the infinite spin or falling blocks, combo thingy.

Chess & Racing (running on foots) have been played for a long time, and are still played.

I like to believe it is D&D. But D&D is prolly only the surface wave which get much of the credit...
