Yes that is a great price for an SNES. With 2 controllers and if Super mario world comes with it?

$30 for a SNES that has all the cables and tv hook ups is a good deal if the system isn't yellowed and the pins look good. Just make sure you have them hook it up to show you it works well. Then immediatly get 3 or 4 good games for it as well, if the answer is yes. :P

I sell them at my store for $50, and they move somewhat steadily. I'm not sure about that one you are looking at, but most I get in are dirty, and need some attention. I only sell ones that look like brand new. I think $30 is a good deal if it is in good working shape at all. Curious though, what did you pay for your NES that you feel ripped off? The ones I have are $50 as well and sell like hot cakes. That is with a new 72 pin connector, cleaning, dusting, and new RF/AC/Controller if necessary.

A lot of people that think $50, or even $30 is too much to pay for an old video game system. They always bring up that they see them for $25 or less at flea markets, and cheaper on Ebay. Thing is, stores are not flea markets. We don't pay $10 for an all day table. I encourage that people do go buy that stuff at flea markets. The problem is that usually the items at flea markets will be missing the AC or RF or even a controller. You will see cords with chew marks or dry rot in them. Even if it is complete you will most likely have to put a good deal of time into cleaning it off and blowing it out. And after all that you have to hope it works, because the flea market vendor is not going to refund your money if it doesn't. Neither are pawn shops or thrift stores. If you buy a SNES at a flea market for $20 that you thought was complete, but then realize you have to order the AC adapter, clean it, dust it out, and then it doesn't even work, you really just threw your $20 away. Sure, some people do get lucky, but that is the exception, not the norm with flea markets. On Ebay you have to trust that the person sends your item (which doesn't happen all the time), and you have to pay for shipping, and you may wait weeks for it. To walk into a store, get an old system that has already been cleaned inside and out, tested to work, be able to browse games, and have a guarantee on it is worth a few extra bucks in my opinion.

A SNES is always great to own. If needed, I'd pay 30 for it, there's a load of good times to be found on it. I'd say, go for it!

Your absolutley right about it being reliable. My SNES which I have owned since it came out back in 1991 still works godo with no issues.

Yep. At my local retro game store, they go for $50. I'd only recommend getting it if that store you're getting it from also sells a steady amount of SNES games, lest you have the console and only like two or three games.

Worth a lot more in my opinion...but that's just for collection's sake. If you buying it to seriously drive into 16 bit gaming, you're better off getting a Retro Duo. It plays SNES and NES games. It's around the same price range and you get more for your dollar. Plus, it can be bought brand new...you can never trust the longevity of a used legacy console.

Well, the going rate for a 2600 is between $24 used (the lowest) and $400 new (the highest) which is fair priced imo since its an antique. I mean, you can't use a NES AC adaptor for it by any conventional means but they do work in the same manner.

Here's one for sell on amazon:

Pfft I dropped $50 on an SNES with AV cables, a controller, and Donkey Kong Country to get my fix on.

its worth 100$ but 90% of them are under 40$.

a 100$ bill can get you the snes+cables/controllers, and about 7 of the best games ever
