I'm going to mention this now, I never played the first trilogy. I know this was supposed to be the fourth installment, but they went the other way and made it a brand new, reboot for this new gen, I'm guessing?
Anyway, is there anything I should know before it releases and I get it? It looks like, to me, it's sort of like a Robin Hood, but I'm not sure if that's the correct way to explain it... Any ideas?
I doubt many fans of the series are looking forward to it.
The reboot really isn't looking anything like a Thief game, and it would have to do something *really* impressive to come anywhere near the quality of the first two games.

Well, don't forget. Eidos made the Tomb Raider reboot and it looked VERY different than a normal TR game and it was actually, pretty good. I loved it, tbh. It was a LOT better than I expected it to be. I feel like this reboot will be a prequel to the first one like TR 2013 did and then it'll show how it all happened, and then it'll continue with the original games, giving us more of a reboot, telling the original story.
Properly looking forward to it! Stealth is one of my favourite game styles, and from what ive seen the developers have given a fair amount of control over whether you want to use abilities, objective markers etc, or not, which allows for a better sense of immersion.
Big fan of the series. (mainly the first 2, 3 wasn't as good but not terrible) Not excited for this game at all though. I bet Dishonored will be better than this.
Thief fans (if they haven't already) need to check out... The Dark Mod.... You're welcome.

Sorry... but that infographic is fill with so much outdated information and things that have already been proven to be wrong that it's most certainly NOT "everything you need to know about Thief 2014". Not to mention how biased towards negative information it is in the first place. I'll go through it.
-It's definitely unforgiving. Most of the previews comment on its difficulty and challenge, and the custom difficulty modes add to that immensely.
-Garrett has NOT been designed with better offensive capabilities. In fact, in the latest preview, the guy died with TWO guards attacking him, and that was on an easy difficulty. Every piece of information lately says that fighting is not an option here.
-Enemies weapons don't flash. That was never true, you can see that in the E3 gameplay.
-Focus is, obviously, optional.
-XP is out of the game now.
-The word "taffer" is definitely still in the game, since it was used in a recent video.
-"the tools we give you are not only aggressive..."- obviously just bad wording on the devs' part, seeing as there are only 3 offensive tools announced so far, blackjack, broadheads, and fire arrows. Fewer than were in the originals.
-Main missions certainly are NOT linear. The map in the EGX demo shows that.
-The 3rd person climbing has been taken out.
-The gameplay is NOT more action oriented. I don't know why they keep mentioning this. It is simply not true.
I'm really disappointed that they aren't just continuing the story from the third game. It would have been interesting to see a new protagonist and have Garret be her mentor. That, and from the art work I've seen, the game looks like a massive Dishonored ripoff.
I haven't played the original games and even though I find Thief really interesting as a game idea and concept, I can't say I'm impressed by anything I've seen so far. The game looks kinda boring so I'll probably wait some time for it to drop in price before getting it. Perhaps on a steam deal at some point.
