No. Microsoft is going to do whatever the hell they want - or, at best, what they think gamers want. It'll either be something worth buying, or it won't. No point worrying over it.
But I think they learned their lesson with Kinect. Kinect is dead. They'll likely keep some of the features, such as voice commands (because people like talking to their phones), but it'd be beyond asinine for them to try pushing anything else. VR will replace Kinect. And while they may offer bundles that include a VR setup, they aren't going to force anyone to buy it.
There's no way the thing costs $1000, unless it's actually a gaming PC in a console shell. More realistically, it will be around $600, depending on what's actually inside it. There's no way they drop the price on the XBox One S between now and when Scorpio is released. And if they're touting it as being 4.5X more powerful than the XB1, then it'll almost certainly have to cost at least twice as much as the basic version of that. But, again, until we know what the damn thing actually is, it's all just speculation and people pulling prices and opinions entirely out of their asses.
