Is anyone excited for Tekken 6?

It's been such a long while since I played a new Tekken. To me, Tekken 5 was decent, but it hasn't moved the series forward as much, with the exception of the story, although storyline wasn't really that good and the gameplay pretty much remained the same, just wasn't evolutionary. But I have high hopes for Tekken 6. Everything is being re-done from the ground-up, at least gameplay wise. I'm not too excited about all the characters using some sort of sub-item during battle, but I dig the other features and I look forward to playing against other folks online.

So I wanted to ask - is there anyone out there, at least on this forum, that is excited about Tekken 6 or isn't, but is at least looking forward to playing? What characters or modes are you looking forward to checking out?

Over 40 characters....man, it'll be pretty awesome. Hopefully it will be the best Tekken to date. I'm planning on picking up both console and PSP versions. The 360 one and the digital download version from PSN.

I just hope Namco-Bandai doesn't skimp out on the single player features for Tekken 6 PSP like they did with SoulCalibur Broken Destiny.

Tekken has settled into its identity now. The point isn't to make anything groundbreaking anymore, just to make a good, quality fighting game with plenty to digest.DarkCatalyst

I understand that, but you have to admit, the last two games have made minor changes and hasn't changed much, so it got kinda stale. So I'm hoping that, with Tekken 6, the gameplay definitely remains the same, but freshened up and new.

I think the PSP version is the only downloadable version.

Are they still using the same sound effects that were in the PSOne/Two games or has that changed at all yet? They should really do something about that. BladesOfAthena

Oh most definitely. I've been a big fan of the series ever since the first game so this is a garaunteed purchase for me.

Yes! Once I get my whole console trouble thing resolved, I'll be contemplating whether to get the collector's edition for that wireless stick. Would be nice to have a clutter free fighting stick, but I'm skeptical about how well it works due to the fact that it's wireless. I need to see the reviews for that!
