Is anyone in here play video game on PC use Xbox 360 controller?

I wanna buy Xbox 360 controller and i wanna know how to connecting it to my computer if it wireless and how about if it wired too?. I have been download the software for it but i'm not yet installed to my computer. What is different between Xbox 360 controller for PC and 360 console itself? Is that any different?

The wired controller is the same as the PC controller. I have tried the wired controller on PC games, and while it works fine, I prefer keyboard and mouse.
